Sal and Athena are great off leash unless I give the ok to go see a dog they know...once I give the ok, there is no bringing them back until after they have said hi.

Yes... both of them. :)
I've called both of them off of a rabbit, and I've called Maddie off of a cat. She lived with a cat, but doesn't like ones that are outside

It's something that I still work on occasionally just because. A reliable recall is very important to me

Bessie is better off than on the lead... but I am a dog trainer so her re cal is tight and she is a dream, other wise I should try another proffession LOL

If your dog does not have a 100 percent recall then do not let it off a lead

nope. once their little terrier branes key in on something preylike, they don't hear me. it's not that they ignore me, it's that they do not even hear me. if there's nothing tipping their prey drive, then they are both reasonably reliable, but it's not something i care to test or risk.

mushroom has been doing fine in the structured environment of obedience and agility classes though so far.

I have a terriers... must I say more? lol

They are generally good, I've been taking them out behind our house in the woods practicing it as of late. I used to be able to call them with a whistle I do, Stryder comes to it... Kiba ignores it. LOL. If I turn around and tell them bye, they are quick to come. Sometimes when we go in the woods on the trail, they will get up ahead of me, but usually stop and one will come back to check on me. LOL

for crosbie, it is a hit or miss, i always have to keep him busy when he is off leash otherwise he will A.D.D. and "find" something to entertain himself..when we are working off least at agility or rally-o he is VERY good offleash ball games and running is also good, but i have to be careful with him when he see's other dogs hes feels the need to meet EVERY dog he can so when i see another dog i do have to ensure that i do a re-call before he notices them there...which is the reason i never take him to dog parksm, hes perfectly friendly, but doesn't tollerate "in your face dogs" he has no tollerance for them lol he wont fight but he will make alot of noise and run away LOl..

Wasn't quite sure how to answer this. Having sighthounds we do not ever let off lead unless its a fenced in area. That having been said, nor would I let my dogs off lead if small dogs, or cats are around. Other than that- as much as a sighthound can be, they will come when I call them. ( does that count? lol )

Riley is generally pretty good unless there are small furry animals around. I would never let him off at a park as he is squirral obsessed, and would chase deer. Pretty good prey drive. He has gotten tons better in the past couple years. He has always been good, but now really great. If i take him to work, i dont need a leash to walk him from the car, through the clinic and into the kennel, or back out. Never need a leash if a car is involved as his favorite thing is a ride. So i guess i would say yes, i have a dog with a good recall, but i dont purposelly set him up to fail or get hurt.

Ilsa and Ronin are very good - well nigh bombproof. Granted, they do always wear e-collars when offleash in an unfenced area, but that's just to combat the deadly disease called Trust. I haven't had to actually use them in a very long time, longer than I can remember. But they're always there, just in case...

Ada... no way. I haven't had the time and she does not have the maturity YET to be reliable offleash.

Yeah, I'd like to say 100%, but you can never say that, so I'll say 95% and allow for a 5% error should it ever arise - keeps me on my toes.

But I can call her off pretty much anything. After her "teenage" tantrum times when she'd just stand there and look at me, like... wha?? I pretty much concentrated on recall for a LONG while, so now she's very responsive to it.

Meg is as close to completely reliable as any dog I know. I've called her off when she was full-out running a dear, chasing squirrels, when there are other dogs around, away from food, etc. The only time she ever ignored my call was when she was going after a rabbit; she ran probably another 20 yards before coming back (still on the tail of the rabbit). Unless we are in public places that require it, or near roads in areas that we are not familiar with, she is rarely on a leash. I generally have to search the car for hers when we get to agility class each week, because the last time I saw it was the previous week.

As for all the terrier talk, I did once get my Bedlington to drop a still-struggling mole that he had caught and come in to the house on my command;). But he was in the fenced in yard - I would certainly never have trusted it!

Ugh, I wish. I'm working so hard on it! She's great in a no/low distraction environment. I like to take her to the tennis courts and let her run there to practice. As soon as there's a squirrel though, she's gone--and there'd be no hope of getting her back.

Her prey drive is SO high. :( I really want to be able to go hiking with her off-leash though, so we'll keep working on it.

Reggin is pretty good with recall. Maybe because he just likes to be around me, and he knows he will get attention and lovins from me if he comes to me... he runs to me and wants me to play. If he sets his eyes on another dog, forget it. Thats never happened (hes always on leash), but I KNOW he would not listen in that case.... depending on how close the other dogs is.

With pebbles... hell no. No recall. She does her own thing and comes at her own pace. If she sees something or smells something, shed never come.

Peewee NOPE no way, no how. Hes a husky mix need I say more? Way too many little critters out there. It took me a year after we moved here to break him of rushing the door to get out.
Ivan, I'm not sure, I have never given him the chance to be off leash. With him being intact I never wanted to take the chance he would smell a bi*tch in heat. And the neighbors behind us do have intact females housed OUTdoors. So I always felt better safe than sorry.

Tia's got great recall.

Nick is a 1 yr old ACD mix with high prey drive, so we're still working on it at times.

They both took off after a stray cat about a month ago, and both recalled right away.

I'm sure Tia has helped Nick learn this. ;)

Brenna does not have what you would call recall, but if you call her she will just stop and wait for you to come. So she is very good offleash, plus I don't have to worry about her running of are bunnies.

Saffie has a very reliable recall.

Boy is not completely reliable with the recall command, but he is so obsessed with tennis balls that I can get him next to me anytime when yelling 'ball'. That's good enough for me to let him off leash. He ignores people and has no interest chasing anything which makes walking him off leash very easy.
