Speaking of those DNA tests, How much are they & who does them? Oddly enought though, Ive had more people stop me when im walking Buddy & comment that he's ABD, Or at least he has some in him. Ive had a vet tech swear up and down that hes APBT. IMO, He's way too big for that.
I believe they run around $50-$100. But after the experience with Buddy (another dog on the forum), I wouldn't even consider doing a DNA test. Buddy is 90 pounds, black-and-white, and shorthaired. His DNA test came back and said that Buddy was "predominately maltese".

I see American bulldog and lab, maybe with something else in there. He looks very large, with big paws and a lot of loose skin. His face though is longer than an american bulldog and reminds me of a retriever.

I think that somewhere there is the owner of a little fuzzy dog who is telling their friends that their dog is a Great Dane mix.

Yep, a bunch of the Vick dogs came back as having no APBT in them at all. I just don't think the technology is *quite* there yet ;)

That dog has some big, floppy, catch dog ears so Am Bulldog is a fair guess. What's the coat like?

I don't see any lab in this dog, personally. I guess in the face you could say it is somewhat lab like, but i've seen many bullbreed crosses with a similar look - It's a far cry from there being any lab ancestory.

I definitely do see the APBT but not purebred, no.

Whatever he is, he is very cute!

It looks like it has some ABPT in it, but not 100%. Here's a friend's Shutterfly Share Site where he has a picture of his ABPT. They have similarities, but aren't the same.

I see American Bulldog for sure, I don't see APBT but because of their popularity it's very possible that there is some in him which goes the same for the Lab, I do think there is something other than AB and Lab is a good bet. I'd like to see what he looks like when he's full grown though.

His coat is very coarse, Like a horses tail. The hair is very thin & youre able to darn near see his skin everywhere on his body. I dont know if you can see in the pics, But the black spots on top are actually his skin underneath. My Vets guess is Pyranese/AB. I couldnt understand why he thought that. he said because of the double dew claws, his size and his markings. How old would you say he is if his K-9s just came in? Based on his size when I got him, Id say he's between 5 & 6 mos old now. Its funny though, He looks a lot fatter in his pictures than he does in person. He's far lankier in person.

His coat sounds like a Shar-pei's but he does not look like one, does he have extra skin? (more than your average pup) of course I don't know what an AB's coat feels like. I really would like to see him as an adult though, it's so hard to tell with pups! i don't see Pyr, other breeds probably have double dew claws.

I don't see any American Bulldog.

I see purebred American Pit Bull Terrier.
A full-grown APBT that weighs 55 lbs is considered a large dog for the breed. And I have to disagree.....that dog does not look like an APBT.

I do see a lot of American Bulldog influence into that dog. ABs still vary somewhat due to many taking them away from their working roots and just breeding them to be oversized "badass" dogs.

(& let's not get to specific with "APBTs" when there are so many other "pit bull" breeds that look so very similar that very few can honestly tell them apart and often times it takes someone looking at the dog's accurate pedigree to do so ;) )

I have seen 50/50 pei crosses that had very little wrinkling. If he was 1/4 pei or less he could easily have the horse coat without all the extra skin.

ETA: About him having pyr, it honestly wouldn't surprise me if there was some in his background. Pyrs have that sort of more moderate "normal" dog head that labs have, that could be what is giving his muzzle the extra length. Does anybody else know what breeds have double dewclaws?

Ill say, Thats the best guess Ive seen. Budy looks exactly like that dog! But, realistically speaking, He's a **** mutt with a large influence of ABD.
