Just would like to let everyone know. I HAVE seen the show. I guess it was missed when I said the "show was good". I really don't feel like debating it. Because its a tv show and not worth it. But I still think the show is good.

BB has already repeated it so many times, but I just feel the need to say it again... she (nor anyone else that I saw?) was criticizing the overall meaning of the show, which is to make people feel comfortable with their weights. However, some of the comments on the show were NOT promoting an image of a healthy body, namely, promoting obesity as healthy. That is what BB had a problem with, and I would too.

And before anyone accuses me of blatantly aiming this post at a few people... allow me to beat you to it: yep, I am! A small handful of you clearly didn't read her first post (or the, what, five consecutive ones defending her views) and your posts just made me go :yikes:. Shame on you.

how in the world did drama arise out of a self esteem thread...lol. I think talking about weight is always a sore spot with some people... myself included. But I didn't get the impression BB was saying anything other than the fact she didn't agree with SOME of the comments that were made on the show. I have not seen the show, but if they are promoting obesity as being "healthy" then I would have to disagree with that too, and I'm obese myself.

I think everyone needs to take deep breath and say "I am beautiful and I have great self esteem" Now everyone smile and hug!

I secretly planted drama seeds. :p

I ditto that, Nancy, I didn't see her saying anything other than that, either.

Reread my posts, as well as my post I wrote back to your original comment.

Or, if you don't feel like reading all that, read the below comment by Noludoru, she's made it easy for you.

Exactly. :hail: Thank you for writing it out for me! I'm so tired of writing the same thing over and over and over for people who don't read before reacting. This thread is like 4 pages of me repeating myself over and over while only 1 is anything productive.

It doesn't have to be drama. Anymore comments about me disagreeing that overweight people shouldn't have self esteem, about me disagreeing the overall aim of the show, will be ignored from now on. I'm tired of repeating myself.

Great idea! ***HUGS SELF*** yay lol :p :) Thanks Nancy, you're right on my meaning.

I find it funny that they find the biggest flamer on TV to host a show about women. He was probably barfing off camera simply because he had to be around naked women, no matter what their size. Personally I think the women on there look good. I like curves. That type of woman used to be the standard of beauty, not 5'10 110lb models and anorexic celebutards. All it's doing is promoting self confidence in the women, which is great. Feel beautiful inside, it shows up as beauty outside.

Here's a BF chart I found:
Classification Women (% fat) Men (% fat)
Essential Fat 10-12% 2-4%
Athletes 14-20% 6-13%
Fitness 21-24% 14-17%
Acceptable 25-31% 18-25%
Obese 32% plus 25% plus

So really, per this chart, anything up to 32% is OK for women.

As far as BMI goes, it's BS to me. I'm "obese" at 6'1 and 255lbs. It doesn't take into consideration activity level, muscle mass, or anything like that. Forget the fact that I bench 475lbs, squat and deadlift close to 600lbs, and carry a lot of mass on my frame. I'm obese, just like the couch potato who is my size who has never lifted a weight in his life and gets out of breath going up a flight of stairs.

Ok, just watched an episode and I thought the show was great. I would say the girl was overweight, but not morbidly obese and very much a reflection of what it should be okay to be.

Everyone should feel comfortable in their own skin and a degree of self esteem is required for that. Once one is able to see themselves in a good light, then maybe they can work positively to shed a few pounds.

If "skinny" people don't like being told that a size 0 or 2 is unhealthy.. imagine what a person who wears a 14 or 16 may feel. Nothing wrong with that either!

Haha! ...Reminds me of Kevin Spacy in American Beauty!

"I wanna look good naked!" - Lester Burnham

Has anyone heard of the "pH Miracle For Weight Loss?" - by Dr. Robert Young?

You're welcome BB. Some of the comments in her got to me.. and while I know it had already been said, I was beginning to think it would take a different person saying it.

BB? I totally did. I grew my very own drama thread! YAY!

Um.. I just want to say... I didn't know they were actually naked on the show. I feel dumb now.
