Still nothing, noone has seen him. Atleast he hasn't wound up on the side of the road though. Our neighbors say if he has a collar and tag they will try and contact you (they did that with one of their dogs and also another person that lives in our neighborhood). I'm so worried, I just hope that he is safe somewhere, maybe someone has him and hasn't started looking for his home yet.

I kinda skimmed this thread, so i may have missed this if you said it...
but did you post up wanted pictures? or any kind of public notice?
as terrible as it sounds...it is very possible that someone found him, and decided to keep him as their own, with the thinking that they shouldnt have to make the effort to find you, or something...
or maybe some kids even took off his tags, and brought him home to their parents telling him they found him with just a collar, no tags?
just thoughts...
i know you have been checking with petfinder, and police, but if the people who found him dont feel the need to make any extra effort to figure out how to contact you (if his tags got ripped off or lost) then, they may just be keeping him as their own.
I know NOTHING about where you live, or a ton about dogs, but i just know when oakley would run away, he would kinda check up on us...(then keep running), cause he just wanted to play, not get away from us...and from what i know about you (which isnt much either), i cant imagine that mav would be trying to permanently get away!!
so since there hasnt been much word on him, the above scenario makes the most sense to me.
