I was wondering this too...I only have experience caring for an intact penis and I have done nothing "different". No extra steps or cleaning. Even with the messiest of diaper changes, you just wipe or maybe plop in the bath lol, same as any other baby (and yes, girls are much harder to clean).
I have a couple friends who have one son circed and then regretted it and left others intact...they have said too there is no difference.
I agree about girls being harder to clean........mentioned that a few posts ago. That is the issue I have with foreskin too, more skin with hiding places for gunk to clean (as with girls). mission impossible? nah, just less time and easier NOT to as I've mentioned. Also eaiser for a little boy learning to clean himself, not the hardest thing they'll learn.....just easier. I recall my kids yelling for wiping help when they were 4 years old, I don't know how old your kids are but BLAH! LOL
As for your friends...........ISN'T IT WONDERFUL THEY HAD A CHOICE?
Toilet paper and circumcision are not my idea of “doing betterâ€. Nor do I think either has done anything tremendously beneficial for changing the status of how women are considered.
Uh, I think you might have missed the point of my words? I don't think toilette paper has changed the status of woman either :rofl1:
What I meant was, indoor plumbing, toilette paper, etc are an IMPROVEMENT (IMO) and if you CAN use them, do so. I didn't wear bike helmets or have to be in a seat belt/car seat growing up.......should I not use them now? I feel cutting off a bit of skin makes life easier and possibly more worry free so that is why I chose the way I did, but again I'll say:
If your (general you) opinion differs, go for it! I wouldn't stop your choice of being able to keep your son's foreskin intact, and you (general you) shouldn't stop my choice of getting rid of it.
Same as cropped ears, docked tails, and even abortion. (among many other things) Each person has to live this life with the choices they make, and yes, some are made for us before we are of the majority, immunizations being just one of many. Some people feel immunizations do more harm than good.......maybe even cancer causing later in life, but parents have to make that choice.
Some things are nobody's business to mandate 'cause nobody loves and cares for YOUR child like YOU do *shrugs*
