Um..is that TWO e-collars combined into one? Or are those black boxes something else? Geez I feel sorry for the dog who's owner tries that..

does everyone feel sorry because it has Cesar's name attached to it? or is there really something wrong with it? As far as I can tell some people can teach nice leash walking with no aids in training. Almost everyone else relys on some sort of leash and collar.

Some use flat collars, and make lots of turns, dog hits end of leash and learns to walk on a slack leash.

some use choke collars, slip collars, etc. Some use prong collars. Some use collars or harnasses that go around the muzzle and will jerk a dogs head back or sideways by the muzzle and call them "gentle leaders" Others will jerk the dog's head down to the ground between their legs and call it some other type of harness.

The muzzle is a very sensitive part on a dog, so is the upper part of the neck where this collar keeps the "corrective" part of the design so it is most effective. Besides looking different, what makes it so much worse than any other aid that people use to be able to walk their dogs?

It's a variation on the high collar, looks like to me. The black things, are adjustable BUCKLES, this isn't an e collar. I see no big deal to raise a ruckus about, than yes...Milan's name is on it. In fact you probably get more raised eyebrows walking a dog on a Halti which to most of JQP=muzzle=mean dog.

Ditto, I rather see an aggressive or reactive dog with a novice owner on one of these than a regular nylon collar or choke collar.

I also LOVED seeing this.....I never see this on something like on a prong collar or whatever.

WARNING: If your dog's neck measures less than 13 inches at the base, or your dog weighs less than 18 lbs, you should NOT use the collar. The Illusion collar is not intended for puppies under one year of age. Dogs with any breathing problems, such as "pushed-in faces" that restrict breathing; dogs with trachea or throat problems, such as Pomeranians; and dogs with elongated, overly slender necks, such as Greyhounds, should NOT use the collar. Consult your local professional or veterinarian for further advice.

I don't really like any collar training aid except no pull harnesses coupled with training, how does this work exactly though?

Maxy same principle as the Halti and it's predescessor...the high collar. the higher the collar on the neck...the more control you have. Show dogs usually have the collar under their jaw to maximize control since it's often big big dogs...on itty bitty thin leads LOL.

I don't see anything wrong with it, really. If it's not abusive (physically or mentally) to the dog, and it works for you and your dog: go for it. I see nothing wrong with Gentle Leaders, prongs, martingales, etc. as long as they're used correctly and responsibly!

No, I feel sorry because it looks a lot like a neck brace and in the video the dogs seem to have very limited neck flexibility.

Just been wondering... Why do a lot of Chazzers dislike Cesar/His training methods?

I've watched his show a few times, and his training seems to work...? And it his methods don't seem cruel.. So, enlighten me..I'm just curious.

The collar is for use on walks..not daily wear. Limited neck flexibility is akin to some who don't allow the dog to sniff...or put their heads down while walking...or to keep their eyes on the trainers face or etc.

To each their own but IMO a Halti is the wrong hands is likely to injure a dog far more than this collar would...probably trouble the dog less too than something around it's muzzle. Some dogs never really get used to that feeling.

That's true, Gina. Another thing is that they could have been uncomfortable with it and acting stiff, rather than a lack of neck flexibility.. I watched the video again and can't really tell.

However, I still think $40 for a mass-produced piece of cheap nylon with plastic buckles.... not worth it. Wayyyy too much money, even if it does work.

absolutely, and I am a cheap a$$..but I know some people spend OVER that just to get a collar that looks pretty or is a certain color LOL. Not how I'd choose to spend my money but it's all good!

I don't have a problem with spending that much on a quality product, but seriously? It's being produced for less than $10, I bet. And it LOOKS like the cheap petsmart nylon.

It looks like CM is following the 'natural' horsmanship lead and coming out with gimmacky shtick to sell.

I don't see how this would be a huge help to anyone. And its wayy over priced.

Sharkbait...watch the show without the sound on.. and just watch the dogs CM works with. You will see lots of stress behaviour and shut down dogs. I think many people get sucked in by CM's prattle and don't look at the dogs.
