APBT. . .but since I end up with multiple dogs, it's not likely. I am confident in my ability to raise a good ambassador, but it would have to be an only dog because I'm just not a crate and rotate kind of person. If that ended up having to be the situation with my current dogs, well, I would deal with it, but I don't want to set myself up for it.

Also, since Lucy was killed, I'm more and more paranoid about having a small dog. I love chihuahuas and want another one with all my heart, but their size is becoming more of a problem for me. If I could get an awesome little chi like Lucy and maker it at least 20 lbs. . .

Also, Koolie except they are awfully hard to get what I want in some ways.

We love Pit Bulls (in all of their various incarnations), but the high possibility of dog aggression stops us from having one due to our having a multi-dog home.

We still think they're awesome though.

Brittanys (may still have to have one someday, fur aside. they're pretty cool dogs)
For what it's worth, Rowan has a feathered coat but it's still super low maintenance. I never brush him and he doesn't mat. On rare occasion (like 1x/year, if that, rare) his ear fur gets a little bit tangled but that's the extent of it. I do trim his feet and the end of his tail but that's purely an aesthetic thing - I don't like the Grinch feet on him, and his tail grows out in a weird squared off way that I hate. :) He sheds, but not a lot, certainly not as much as Riff who is a fur machine.

I agree with this. Feathered dogs with a lighter field coat are very easy to take care of. I would put some of the setters in this category (field bred ones anyway).

Watson's fur is certainly longer than you like (you=teacuptiger), but I rarely brush him, he doesn't mat, he doesn't get dirty, and I only trim him at all (neck, ears, feet, and tail) because I like the cleaned up look. A brittany would be even easier with no trimming necessary if you didn't want to do it.

I always wanted a Golden when I was little. I still like them... except for the allergy problems they have.

Now...
Border collie... except crazy energy/exercise requirements. But I wonder if we would be ok because of agility. It's just I like to be able to have days where I can't/don't want to do much and the dogs just chillax. Or it's too freaking cold out for a week to do anything and the dogs don't destroy the house.

Collie/Aussie/koolie except.... Errr, not even sure. Maybe one day?!

Brittany... Except errrr... I'm not very good at this. They're not even too hairy!

Dual purpose gsp..... UBER UBER UBER WANT. Except I really don't want a docked dog..... And working breeders still dock. And I have major dilemmas about this...... I don't really know what to do, as I want badly, but really really don't like docked dogs :( and I don't know which I want more.... I think I know which breeder I want to approach already, she has gorgeous dual purpose dogs, but I suspect will not consider not docking as they don't know which will go where till they're 6 weeks plus. Argh!!! And I'm not even looking for a puppy for years yet!!!!!

Poodle!!!! Except major grooming omg. And other half would never ever want one.

I'd also like a small dog one day. A dead fun, happy, bouncy small thing. Not sure what. No except lol

I really think the exercise requirements are exaggerated for BC's and other herding breeds. Laur's thread about how much exercise you really give shows it well. I think you could really easily own the right BC!

Perhaps. It just scares me. lol. But yes, I do see people who own BCs and don't do much with them. Instead of Kili I almost had a BC/Lab cross. It fell through though because I requested a trial period before committing 100% (I felt that was reasonable and responsible, but apparently not, lol). So instead I ended up finding Kili. I'm kind of glad I didn't get the other dog because greyhounds really are my love.

I've been highly considering Aussies, like they're pretty high up on my list lately, but the tail thing bothers me too. I just... LOVE full tails. And it's so much harder to find the breeder I want with dogs I like AND worry about full tails. And I don't want to have to pick a dog at 2-3 days old if I put a deposit down to have a tail non-docked.

Dobes I'd consider in the far future but honestly the major health concerns and DA are huge turn offs.

I have a soft spot for Goldens, and really do love them... but the cancer and the hair. And the size. I wish they were a tad smaller.

My agility instructor left tails on at least some of her Aussie's, maybe all (Megan probably knows), so there ARE people out there doing it. And I feel like it would be easier to find a tailed aussie, than some of the other breeds.

Standard Poodle. Except for the grooming requirements.

Corgi. Except for the size. Not sure if I could handle something being so much smaller than what I am used to.

I think the biggest thing about border collies is they are very socially needy with people. Feist doesn't have separation anxiety by any means, but she always wants to be around me, interacting with me, watching me. That and yes, if you were considering a puppy, because obviously she'll settle down with age, (also depends on what lines we are talking, obviously show lines would be less demanding than working), Feist would go crazy if we did little to nothing but hanging out for a week. But she is crazy in general. :p
