was feeling slightly more normal and safe.. went to go put on my nikes to go to work, I hadn't worn them since the marathon and noticed they were covered in blood on the bottom.
Threw them away and now I feel sick.

I know in the panic we ran and walked over a lot but the police were yelling to look straight ahead and directing us where to go and I didn't look down and had no idea..

I now want to barricade myself in my apartment.

CNN says they've arrested the suspect.
I hope it's him. I hope they got the f*cker.

((((HUGS)))) Fran. I had a hard time sleeping Monday because your words about your experience haunted me. I can't imagine. =<

CNN's article still says "the arrest was first reported by CNN!!" right below their amendment that there have been no arrests....
yeeeeeah I would be taking that brag down if I were you CNN...

That highlights he problem I have with the media in cases like this.
Yeah. =/ I mentioned it in the other thread, but I hate situations like this because people who "aren't authorized to speak on the subject" run their mouths and they give out wrong information.

When I got home for lunch I turned on Fox and the girl said "Here's what's going on... we don't know." They'd had people tell them yes, people told them no, and that was exactly what they were reporting. Good on her for at least being straight up and telling people they were getting conflicting information.

Part of me thinks/hopes they do have someone arrested but are saying they don't to keep the media slightly at bay until they know for sure.

I don't want to be cynical here, but I hope that due to the pressure to solve this case fast the investigators don't rush to judgment and go after the wrong person (like in the bombing at the Olympics in Atlanta).

I know, richard Jewel comes to mind everytime I hear about the Atlanta bombing, was it Eric Rudolph? I'm off to check google. I haven't watched the news at all about this, i can't stand any of their reporting anymore. Sometimes I feel like I'll be less informed and it bothers me a bit, but then I think, am I really any less informed when all they talk about is speculation and speculate on the speculation? 24 hour news sites suck

I'm pretty sure there were lots of Carlos's. He is just well photographed.
No doubt...but I was talking about his past. Just because there were tons of heroes it doesnt negate a great story about one.

And yes, I have seen several quotes of officials specifically mention not wanting this to end up like Richard Jewel....I hope everyone listens and pays attention to that

Something that annoys me in tragedies like these, is when they focus so much on the loser who did it. I don't want to know the name of the creep, he doesn't deserve to have his name known. I focus on the victims, their names. I sure as heck want the idiot to be found, and I would like him to be shot multiple times, but I don't like it when they show the whole nation the life story of the person behind it. I just feel like it makes it 'worthwhile' to them, because they got their name known for something they felt was 'right'.

I don't think I'm wording this properly, but I don't like everyone talking about the person who did it. I really hope they don't show everyone the life story.
