Can you imagine being the nurse and doctor who has to save his life?

What a strange feeling.
I was thinking that too. I know they want him to be alive in order to hopefully get some questions answered but.... at the same time it just feels so wrong to work to save his life.

This whole thing is still insane to me. Doesn't seem real. I was so distracted at work today, just wanted to glue myself to the news.

I can. I'd gladly save his ass so that the authorities could find out what they need to know. Can't say as I'd be particularly concerned with being gentle, though. Whoops, forgot to lube that cath, sorry buddy...

...Probably why I didn't go to med school.

A hole in the bottom of the sea.
I would imagine medical staff would just go into autopilot? Also, I wonder if it is a lot harder to think about NOT saving someone's life (no matter what they've done) if they are actually right in from of you with your hands on them.

Its just all so very sad.....often one can find "reason" (not justification) for acts. A certain trauma as a turning point or growing up, not developing empathy, being raised or indoctrinated with extreme views or hate, etc. Again, not that any of this justifies terrorist activities (domestic or foreign), or any kind of atrocity...but these boys. What happened? Where did they turn? Usually you hear oh they were such a loner, or no one ever knew them or hung out...it seems so crazy.

I'm thinking about his defense attorney. Wouldn't want to be them. And although I'm sure there's enough between last night and today to put him away for good, I'm not so sure about the Marathon. I hope they have enough (proper) evidence to nail him for that.

Urgh the fact people are debating skin colour and how that makes people behave differently is insanity. And a bit disgusting. And people are saying these boys were of Islamic faith.

And seriously, look at history. You can't say any one race is more evil/plotted/nutjobby than another.

All religions have the blood of thousands on their hands. All of them. Hitler was reported to be Christian... And look at the crusades!!!!

These kinds of wars or acts of hate have always happened, all through history, every race and religious view is covered.

And before anyone else gets there.....

Hmmm, the link still works for me? Its not anything that major, just more of people who knew them being shocked. It does seem the older one started changing several years back from some accounts, started distancing himself maybe?

By Luis Vasquez

I'm confused. Is this really all happening? There's too many twists and turns for a lot of us to fully grasp. To quote my friend Jason, "I just want my city back." I'm writing this now with no edits and no deleting, just raw. Risky? Maybe.

It's really true what they say, you can never really know somebody. Where do I begin with this?

My wife has been in their home. She knew the family.

I helped to coach Dzhokhar when he was on the JV soccer team at CRLS. He was quiet, respectful, a great listener.

Tamerlan was a soft-spoken, big friendly giant in high school. He smiled. He cared for people. I've had lunch with him. He always kept a very watchful eye over his younger sister. I would bump into him from time to time after high school. He would always ask me how I'm doing first, very sincere. He would update me on his friendly wager with my cousin as to who would win the day they get into the boxing ring together. He had a sense of humor. He mentored my cousin through his boxing aspirations, always making himself available to him.

If you ask anyone that knew them in high school or even a bit after, they will tell you, these guys never showed signs of wanting to harm people. I didn't recognize them at first because Tamerlan usually had a light beard and hardly ever wore a hat. In the FBI photos he had a clean shave, glasses, and a hat on. Hard to recognize. Dzhokhar had more of a baby face when I coached soccer at Rindge, so I didn't recognize him right away either.

Rely on the past-tense here because I have no idea how or where these kids got lost in the shuffle. What Tamerlan and his brother did is unacceptable, horrendous, and incredibly insulting. They were members of our society. That's so shameful.

This stuff never happens in Boston, let alone Cambridge now. If you aren't a Cambridge native or a resident, it's hard to understand the uniqueness and the joy that comes with living here. This is not what we're about. We actually stand for the complete opposite, no middle ground. We embrace peace, liberty, freedom of expression, culture, and teamwork. That's my community. Not a million television stations and SWAT surrounding a home around the corner on Norfolk Street.

Stay strong, America. Justice will prevail. God Bless everybody.
