Journey is. Dance not anymore, because she thinks she's allowed up all the time. Journey always asks and never, ever hops up on her own. Ripley isn't allowed either because he makes things smell really doggy (not his fault, but still), and his pokey hairs give my mom and I hives. Plus, he's huge and our couch is not, and he's really needily pushy about cuddles lol. Everyone is happier when he's in his own cushy bed.

I wrote "different for different dogs". When I lived in PA, all dogs on all furniture all the time, basically. It was the only way to stay warm and I had shitty second hand furniture.

Now that we cohabitate and my husband's super nice red couch came with us, no dogs on the red couch ever except Fox/Bruce (the Pom). They are not allowed in beds, but they have their own couch in the front room and a futon upstairs. Being as they like to be near us, they are virtually never on the furniture they're allowed on - they choose dog beds/the floor near us.

Daisy is special and allowed to do anything. I used to have a sheet on top of our bed that she could lay on but she started deciding she'd rather be on her orthopedic bed on the floor.

Pom will choose the floor at night. So to recap, basically, we have no dogs on any furniture ever, except the Pomeranian who sits on the couch if we're on the couch.

Yeahhhhh I don't care where they go as long as they don't destroy things or eat my food, and they get off when asked.

Lucy and Cajun are allowed on the couch.
Juno would be if she didn't dribble pee.

I'm not a fan, if I had it my way no one would be on the furniture.

Yes all 3 dogs can get on all furniture.

I tried keeping Hank off the bed but one night he got on the bed while I was asleep and just snuggled next to me so then I couldn't say no. He also got on the couch by snaking his way up there into my lap.

He just wants cuddles and I can't say no.

The papillons spend the majority of their life on the couch/furniture.

Only off limits is the table (they can be in the dining chairs though). It's nice wood and I don't want it scratched.

Buzz was allowed to do as he pleased. Never an issue of him guarding.

Bailey is allowed on my bed if invited. She is not allowed to get on any furniture uninvited. She will guard her space so just no.

Gabby is allowed to do as she pleases because it's a non issue. She doesn't get on furniture at other people's houses on her own though. And I'm okay with that.

Foster dogs are not generally allowed on the furniture.

They get to go on the furniture. The big boy won't actually jump up or off of anything but the little girl can actually jump up into some of the lower chairs. She will jump right off the bed but then she can't get back up.

The paps realy don't shed much. The wife probably sheds more than the 2 of them combined and I still let her on the furniture. :lol-sign:

Yeah. They can get on everything except the table! Lol.

I love when they cuddle with me on the couch and in bed. I attempted to keep Tulsa off until she got a bit older, but that didn't last long.

Rider's favorite spot is on the back of the couch. Better to look out the window, he says!

I said it's complicated... Because I'm fickle. And it depends.

It irritates me when the assume they can just get up. Oh let's them up willy nilly. I'm more strict. We are basically just very inconsistent lol

But yes they come up for cuddles. We have a baby gate stopping them from going upstairs as Fred would sleep on the beds and they get muddy. Bodhi slept in my bed till I moved here, then she voluntarily chose not to. So they don't now. They come to for Sunday morning cuddles though :D

Can't lie, don't miss the dog hairs in the bed.

I answered "Yes". It's her house, she just lets us live here.

At least she knows what "skootch" means. She'll vacate/move over when it's time for us to sit.

I put 'its complicated'.

Leo is only allowed up on furniture when invited, and only on certain furniture. He does a pretty good job of distinguishing, and of getting off when asked.

Basically, he is only invited up to cuddle (so not invited to just chill on the furniture by himself) and only on my furniture and the furniture of Housemate #1 (but not on the furniture of Housemate #2).

He used to be able to just jump up on my bed whenever, but I recently got a new comforter that I don't want dirty right away, so I have recently revoked that privilege. It took him a few days of hurt expressions when I asked him to jump off, but now he doesn't even try that anymore.

Basically, I love to cuddle with him, but I am not a big fan of dog hair on my furniture so he is only allowed on when my desire to cuddle is greater than my desire to avoid dog hair :rofl1:

Yes. He knows "off" and listens to it well, and he can't bring chews up onto the bed or couch (he can only eat those in his crate or on his mat anyway). Otherwise, it's all fair game - drool, hair and all.

Oh yeah. Gwen is allowed on the bed, couch and chair. She usually squeezes her way in, but will get off if told to move or if shoved enough. With only one dog (and one cat) it isn't an issue. Now, if I had multiples I doubt I'd be so lenient. We have a queen size bed but with two people, a cat and dog it can get pretty crowded.

The younger daughter left a couple of stuffed animals on the couch today. Xena just got up on the couch, pushed a stuffed panda off and turned to give me a "Come at me, bro" look. Message received. It's her couch and keep my crap off of it.

The bed, yes. I'm not allowing Romeo anymore though because he eats blankets, and also the bed here is very high and I'm afraid of him hurting himself jumping off in the dark.

I'd rather they not get on the couches but it's a losing battle. Grrr dogs.

She will be allowed on all the furniture. Except on the bed when hubby is in it. Hey says that dogs are bed hogs. LOL.
