Out of curiosity, what's the biggest age difference between you and anyone you were ever "with" (either sexually, dating, relationship, or otherwise romantically involved with)?

Do you find large age differences to be weird? What's the biggest age range you'd consider dating or being with?

Erm. 0?

I guess I should just get out of this thread... since I don't really belong..

But anyways, I can see myself with a guy at least 5-7 years older then me, mostly because everyone else younger then that is super immature in a not good way. Like, I can be immature... but they take the cake :p

And I've always liked older guys, even though I've never dated, so I don't find 10 or so years a huge weird gap.

29 years. i wouldn't have chosen that intentionally, because it did make things much harder at times, but with the exception of being out in public, it was largely a non-issue.

a lot of my friends were like "how could you ever have that much in common with someone so much older" but similar interests are similar interests, i guess. we had a lot of fun together.

it didn't work out in the end, but those reasons weren't particularly age-related.

it does seem kind of weird to me now in retrospect, but at the time it didn't. we met over the internet (of course, right?) where age is so much harder to pin down and so much less relevant, and were good friends for a couple years before we met in person and it became a romantic relationship.

When I was 14 I kissed a guy who was 18.

Dating wise, 2 years. Ian is 24 and I'm 26 and we've been together since I was 17. He skipped a grade though so was only a year behind me.

Not sure what my biggest age range would be if I were single, though. I like being with someone close to my age. I guess I'd consider anyone under 40 and anyone older than, say, 23. I would want them to be done with college and in a stable career.

I'm pretty open to casually dating anyone within a pretty wide range of ages...I can't see going more than 20 years older than me, but who knows. However, if I was going to get into any kind of serious relationship, I think I would hesitate to do it with someone more than 10 years older.

Ditto this - the only "weird" thing would be the looks we get when we're in public or he is doing business networking stuff and I'm there, and I really don't look 30-something and people assume I'm the GF. . . or worse yet, his wife.

I should add that I look a few years older then I actually am and he looks a few years younger, so it's not that bad for the casual observer, but we've gotten some really weird looks when people overhear our conversations. Or when I order non-alcoholic drinks.

Lol it didn't even occur to me that going out in public would be weird. Maybe because I have a lot of friends who are quite a bit older than me?

it wasn't always weird, but we had a few father/daughter moments of severe weirdness.

Going out in public isn't weird, it's just the odd occasions where people overhear a conversation that highlights the age difference and give you strange looks. Or assume you're married and have kids. The former is entertaining (mostly) and the latter makes me nauseous.

I was at his house once when he was getting estimates on windows and the window dude assumed I was his wife and actually chided me for not joining in the conversation and I had to explain that it's not my house and not my windows. . . That's a little weird to me.

The entertaining moments when people notice the age difference, though. There was a woman eavesdropping on our conversation and giving us odd looks at a store a while back, and the Not-Boyfriend decided to **** with her a bit, so when I picked up a sprayer attachment for my hose and said I needed one for the garden, he asked if I was sure it would fit. I responded that yes, I was pretty sure it would fit and that those types of hose attachments are universal; to which asked again "but will it fit?"

We weren't sure what horrified her more - his comments or my gales of laughter in response. She glared us out of the store. :rofl1:

14 years. He looked older than he was and I look younger than I am, so there were definitely some strange looks out in public.

Zach's only a year older than me. Previous boyfriends were a couple days younger, and 6 months younger.

I could see going maybe 5 years older if I were in the dating world now...but more than that, and I think there'd be too many differences in where we were in life. I'm still building a career and jumping around finding my place in the world, so I'm grateful to be with someone young who is okay with that right now.

hmmmm... oldest guy I dated was about 5 years older than me. Youngest was almost a year younger than me. Josh is only older than me by a few months.

I personally don't think I could go older than maybe 7 or 8 years... my parents are only about 18 years older than me though and I'd feel awkward ever dating someone close to them in age or older.

Course I'm married so my opinion might not exactly apply so much as I'm out of the dating world, but that's about where I stand. Not that I have any issues with people dating people way out of their age range of course.

12 years was the biggest difference. With him being the older one.

My current relationship has a 10 year difference with me being the older.

I have also had relationships where the age was close.

I think age is not so much a thing if the interests and companionship part work.
