Currently I have a crush on a guy ten years older then me, and he's my older brother's best friend. We've known him for ages, and one of my sisters told me recently that they had thought we should get married. ....

And my older sister married a guy who's 9 years older. So I don't think my family would think of that as a big deal

17 and it was the best relationship I ever had. They just don't make men like that anymore. We grew up in the same area, we liked to do the same things, he would fish, I would walk the banks and enjoy the sun. One of my most favorite memories was sitting on the back of my car by Humphry's bridge enjoying the stars.A date was a trip in the van down to the ozarks building a fire, and chilling with a big steak and a baked potato. We had a wonderful time until cancer took him away.

I think the oldest I've gone is 7 years. so not really that big a difference. if I was 15 that's a big difference but not at 30. it's funny to talk about how when he was being deployed with the army I was just starting highschool LOL

but now it doesn't seem like much of a different at all at this stage in life.

it's only 7 years so no one really cared either way and didn't make comments.

About 10 years ago I was dating a guy who was about 23 years older than I was. He was really handsome and had more energy than I did. LOL. I was around 45 at the time and newly divorced. I think he might have been a rebound guy. But we had a l ot of fun. He had a Harley Davidson and I rode around all decked out in my leathers with fringe a flyin'. lol. We both had horses at the time and it was all fine and dandy until he started acting all possessive and irritating, so I had enough of that.

I don't think age necessarily determines how a relationship will be. My sister's late husband was 25 years older than she was and they were married for a long time until he died from cancer. She's re-married now and has been for a long time, and to a wonderful guy (she gets all the good ones) but still refers to her late husband as the love of her life. He was indeed an amazingly good man and one didn't tend to think of him in terms of age....loved by everyone who met him.
