I was gonna quote some people, but I won't. But I'm surprised at the lack of understanding and compassion as well.

It's a mental illness. Sometimes they can't just *snap* out of it, or *get over* it or *get help*. It's not that black and white.

If this is an indication of the way our young people are growing up, I'm afraid for the future.

Trust me, that's not always the case. I speak from experience.

You're saying that people with a mental illness don't deserve to live? That they're less worthy? Do you realize how many people are suffering from mental illness? 57.7 million people. One in FOUR people. That's alot.

The thing that P**** me off the most about people who commit suicide is that there is Help out there for them if they would just get out and get it.

My life is not and has not been easy. I was in a comma for 3 weeks, then woke up to find out my three best friends in the world were dead. Yes I had thoughts. I have delt with alot of deaths in my family and I have delt with alot of thing as a paramedic, including scraping a 1 year old off the highway because her parents were to stupid to buckle her car seat in.

People have it ALOT worse than I do, wich is why I am still here. Those people who kill themselves because they were dumped or because their peinis is to small need to get over it. There are people who are a H*** of alot worse off than them.

If you need help get of your lazy but and get it. And no it's not about money, you can get help for free.

Sadly, sometimes people with mental illness do not realize they are mentally ill. They think their thoughts and actions are perfectly rational, and that they are the normal ones. Their thought patterns are so damaged that they think others are the ones who aren't thinking clearly. It's not about money, or laziness, but often about a deep-seated mental disease that even the one afflicted does not recognize. Unfortunately I have extensive personal experience with mental illness, and know how dysfunctional the thinking of someone mentally ill can be.

Well, considering that a certain degree of mental illness has been determined to be hereditary, and that we have not yet managed to free ourselves of mental illness, it seems quite clear that the mentally ill do survive, and even procreate. Which means we still have to deal with mental illness in our society every day. And that's life.

So do I, but I get the violen ones after they have atacked someone. It's y job to "sedate" them wether that be a confined room or tied to the bed.

In either of my lines of work I can NOT be compasionate or it would eat me alive.

I have no compasion for the "mentally ill" as many are catigorized that shouldnt be.

It's a pitty darwinism doesnt work on humans
