A question ....... I only have my ear lobes done , but one has grown shut . I don't want to pay to have it done ....If I deaden with ice , do you think I could use a sterilized needle and re-open myself ? Then do I just put in a sterilized stud ??
That is exactly how I did all of mine except my originals. This includes two in the upper part of my ear or the cartilage. I also pierced a friend of mine's cartilage the same way. She had an additional one put right next to hers at a professional piercer and he was impressed at the job that I did.

If you numb it with ice, you can use a large safety pin as long as you sterilize it. Put something behind the ear like a piece of potato so you don't poke your finger or your neck. Go very slowly. There will be one or two pops as you make your way through. I've always used a solid gold hoop earing for healing. NEVER use a stud. It is much easier to push the scabbing out with a hoop to keep the hole clean. The most you can do with a stud is spin it and that does not remove anything that could cause infection. As soon as it is healed, you'll be good to go.

Plenty of cases of Hepatitis C are picked up at piercing salons. Please watch for cleanliness. The Hep C virus is very hardy and can live for two weeks outside the body. It is carried via blood to blood and where better is blood raised and re-raised than at a piercing salon..
Good advice. My mother got Hep C from a run down Tattoo parlor in Myrtle Beach. It stayed dormant in her system until 2002. 5 years after she was infected. She has been fighting it for 5 years now, and since none of the treatments will not work, she will probably be fighting it for the rest of her life.

Please be careful. Don't go to Claire's or Wal-Mart. It may be more expencive, but go to a tattoo or Piercing parlor.

Now that is said... I have no piercings at all. I was 8 years old and had my ears pierced for the first time ever, and I laid down that evening and went to sleep. I woke up the next morning to find that my studs were gone!!

So I had my sister look me over, and she said "Oh, they are there, they just need to be pushed back through", and without telling me beforehand, she pushed the ear ring back through. Basically the balls of the studs were so small they guaged out my ear when I went to sleep. I took my ear rings out that day and haven't wore any since!

It's ritualistic.. Got me into a different headspace, and clarified some things for me. It's 4 large gauge hooks in your back for a suicide suspension. Proved to me a lot about me too.

A pull is 2 in you and two in a friend for a sort of tug of war. Was far less traumatic on my body.

Actually.. here's one that doesn't show my back.. so it's 'work safe- kid safe'.

the suspension faqs explains it better thn I can really.. But for everyone it's personal.. So what I have ot say friends might say their experiences weren't like that.

Looks far more oww if you see pics from the back, lol.. Especially the second time.. My relationship was going down the toilet.. I knew it and couldn't get into a good state of mind..

To pull.. actually felt good.. gentle pressure.. we pulled for about 45 minutes and were going at it so hardcore everyone stopped to watch.. In the end it hurt to stop.. The endorphine rush was like flying for literally days after..
First time suspending, I was a big wimp, but it went well, was intense pressure, but it dissipated...
To suspend the last time, was really brutal.. So much so, that even though it's been two years, I don't have that itch to do it again..
I may in future though..

Wow, that's trippy! I've heard about the endorphin rush but that's too hardcore for me.

Do you know what they call the piercing that's basically an industrial bar through your wrist bracelets? is that a "suicide ladder"?

I'd just consider it surface piercings...

It's a suicide suspension, because it's sort of the position you'd hang yourself in.. A superman suspension is generally like 12 hooks back, thighs, calves so you are 'flying'.

I've never heard a special name for a wrist piercing. But my old piercer had both of hers done, and I'd love to have mind done.

I'd heard one tossed around a while back, but that could have just been the name that group of people had taken to calling it.

Funny this topic came up, as I went for the first time to a tattoo/perciing shop this past weekend ( Randy Adams) with my brother. He got the back of his neck peirced, of all things. The girl that did his neck had surgically had a circle of something put UNDER her skin on her hand... was the freakist thing I have ever seen in my life. She also had like 4 studs down her forhead... lol

I've had my ears periced twice, and both times let them grow back, and I really have no desire to get them redone. I'm not much on pain. My brother also has his eyebrow, both ears, and tounge periced. Just not my thing!

I've been toying with the idea of getting either a third hole in one of my ears or my nose pierced. I'd put one of those little bitty diamond studs in it.

I think nostril piercings are adorable. I prefer hoops, if the face can pull them off.
I wouldn't mind having both sides done, or two on one side. :)
