A good small breed... any suggestions?

I wish I could dye Charlie...but no colors will show up on him 
Maybe we'll have to stick to a moehawk instead?? LOL. Dyeing dogs, if done properly, won't damage the skin and has no effect on the dog.
Curious, why wouldn't they be purse dogs? Not that he/she'd stay in the purse all the time I'm sure. I'm just curious
Bichons: 7-12 lbs
Cairns: 13-18 lbs
Of course, a combination of being a good purse dog/being sturdy enough for an IW is a tall order.
