1 year old Basset becoming anxious

1 year old female Basset hound has progressively become more nervous and has fairly bad seperation anxiety. Bella is at the point where if my wife and I leave her at all she begins to whine, and whimper. Typically when it is raining or cooler out we take her to the garage when we leave for...

    Is your dog smart?

Bella is smart and impossible to train. Best combo  She knows when you are using treats to train and when you aren't. She knows quite a few commands but will never respond to any unless it is beneficial to her. She sneaks around and gets into things she shouldn't but if you are...

    Dependency issues

My dog is lazy and does the same thing. Is the bone possibly too big for the dog to handle on it's own? If my dog cannot get an item into a comfortable position to chew on it, she will avoid it.

    So Pissed!

Kidnap the dog, get it spayed, return it with the plastic guard around it's collar and a note attached with instructions for post op care.

    Help with kibble change...

The pumpkin was the right type, it was not pumpkin pie filling. The only ingredient was pumpkin. Like I said we had a short stint on lamb and rice which she did not eat at all. Maybe venison or duck.

    Help with kibble change...

Not sure if this should go in the health section or here...please move this thread if needed, thank you. 11 month old basset hound. Has been on Royal Canin (large breed puppy mix, chicken) since we received her, with a short stint (3 weeks) on Nutro Lamb and Rice, then back to Royal Canin...

Adopting a dog. Is it too soon? And what Breed is best?

I would second the hound notion, although the only ones that come to mind that would be remotely close to the 25lb mark would be beagles.

It's going great. In the beginning it was a lot more work than I expected (housebreaking), and at times it was very frustrating, yet extremely rewarding. She has pretty much the textbook basset personality, which suits my wife and I perfectly. One of the best things though is that I mostly...

    A few general food questions...

I have a 10 month old basset hound who is on Royal Canin (I know, not great but it was the food she was fed when we received her and we haven't wanted to change, except for a short stint on Nutro Lamb and Rice). She eats 1 cup twice a day, and currently weighs 44lbs. My wife and I feel that...
