My dog is lazy and does the same thing. Is the bone possibly too big for the dog to handle on it's own? If my dog cannot get an item into a comfortable position to chew on it, she will avoid it.

Kidnap the dog, get it spayed, return it with the plastic guard around it's collar and a note attached with instructions for post op care.

The pumpkin was the right type, it was not pumpkin pie filling. The only ingredient was pumpkin. Like I said we had a short stint on lamb and rice which she did not eat at all. Maybe venison or duck.

I would second the hound notion, although the only ones that come to mind that would be remotely close to the 25lb mark would be beagles.
