Just because someone is a "performance breeder" doesn't mean they have great dogs. Sometimes they do. And sometimes it just means they are really, really great trainers ;)
THIS!!! ^^^^ It's not always just the dog's lines. There are sooo many different aspects that make up a good agility dog that is it difficult to breed for that. Not just temperament, there is drive, precision, biddability, physical soundness, mental soundness, structure, and speed to name just a few.

We all know that you can get a shy dog from outgoing parents, it happens, there is always variance in temperaments within a litter and a line does not make or break a good agility dog.

Great glad to know you agree with us :D

Maf said she wants the whole package. Which to her also includes lines that are well titled in agility.

I myself mentioned drives MANY times and biddability in my posts.

The nice thing about lines that are full of high end agility titles you know they are likely going to have drive and be fairly biddable. If they are also confo champions they will likely have good structure, and if the breeder does all the possible health tests then the puppies will likely be healthy.

;) so there is no disagreement.

That is what 'stacking the deck' means, trying to get the whole package so there is a greater likelyhood of getting a good agility partner. This is why Maf said this is only ONE of her criteria, but for her its a 'must have' vs 'would like' same has health.

It's interesting how many chaz members seem to have a problem with reading comprehension yet managed to likely graduate high school.

I have said in this thread I was looking for a breeder to stack the deck with. At no point did I say I couldn't or wouldn't train. I almost have an ATChC dog. Unless someone else can put up their titles.. I think it would be time to shut up, or put the rude away. Decades of training or not. Have something to show for it, or quit telling me I'm not world team quality. That's unnecessary.. as my dogs seem to have more titles... quit telling me I want an insta star. That was your interpretation.. not out of something I typed.

I said I wanted to stack the deck. That in no way meant I only wanted performance lines. I have to say I'm shocked at your attitude and reading comprehension Sara. You usually have better, quality advice than this.

Performance was one of about 6 things I'm looking for. None of which I'm willing to compromise on. Not the only attribute or the entire package.

I am sorry, but I can see her frustration. She has said she wants a puppy with parents that have good health, good structure, good tempements and good dogs sport records.

And then people in this thread (well some people) go on about how all she wants is dog sport titles, and that because she wants that she obviously wants an 'insta dog'.

It is interesting how all along she has said dog sport criteria is one of MANY things she is looking for in a breeder, yet people keep harping that she needs to look at more things (which she is)

How many times does she have to say she isn't looking for just one criteria, and that of course she knows she will have to train her puppy before people comprehend? I don't think its rude to be surprised that people (not just in this thread) miss clearly stated comments, and miss them repeatedly to wonder how they passed highschool english classes.
