I went to the farm (where I work) early this morning to take care of the garden before the heat of the day sets in. Since it was before "public hours" I decided it would be a good time to take Miss Zoe (more things I can control when the public and their dogs - who might not be vaccinated, etc... - isn't there). I also grabbed my camera so I could share her little adventure. There were a few "hide behind mom" moments like when the turkey puffed up and started gobbling for his lady but other than that she had a blast!
After much sniffing and pauses to listen as we made our way in to the farmyard here you can see Zoe's first glimpse of the dairy calves. Very curious with a bit of caution added in.
The calves were equally curious and all came up to inspect Zoe.
"What do we get to see next, Mom?"
A little unsure of the goats...
Just after this she decided she wanted to go play with the goats but I was mean and said she needed to stay on the outside of the fences.
"Hey, I don't see any other animals"
"Oh, now I do!"
And our brand new calf...
One of those run and hide moments when Monica came to visit. Zoe ended up saying hello a moment later.
Meeting our Angus bull, Dennis.
