Would you/did you find out your baby's gender?

Definitely... much easier to shop for. Plus I found that if you have a girl, you really don't want to put her in yellow outfits.

I always want to know. It is so much easier to prepare that way. With my first though I had 3 ultrasounds and still didn't know till she was born because of how she was always positioned. My next two were boys and they seems to proudly show off their jewels for the ultrasound tech. lol This one though is stuborn too. We have been to two ultrasounds and both times feet were in the way. So still don't know. But if the tech had to fancy a guess she said it is a boy because she pointed out what looked like the ball sack right next to the heel of the baby's foot.

So yes I prefer knowing but even if someone prefers knowing it can still end up a surprise. lol

My parents didn't find out with me but my mom knew I was a girl and only picked one girl name. :p They found out with my brother and sister.

I would likely do the same. Be surprised with the first, find out with the others. But I don't know. I would probably actually end up finding out with the first too, because I'd want to do a bedroom and getting clothes, etc. And I'd want to know what to call him/her while they were still in there...

I always wonder what people are preparing for when they say "preparing for a baby"... I uhhh... haven't done anything and I'm due very soon. I used nothing but a sling and diapers/clothes with Briggs and I was just given a ton of clothes that were boy clothes. I only have boyish clothes this time too beacuse they don't stain as easily hahaha.

I fail at preparing.

For me preparing means getting everything the baby will need before the baby gets here. All the furniture(crib, swing, playpen, bouncy chair and so on) clothes, diapers, bottle liners, wipes, freezer baggies and the like. Have enough of everything on hand so no need for shopping or getting anything for at least a month or two. We have all the furniture and most of everything else.

That makes sense. I didn't need anything other than diapers, some clothes and a carrier for my kiddo as thats all I used. Probably all I will use this time. I will admit I have way too many baby carriers. That's my version of preparing.

Hannah lived in sleepers for the first 4 months lol. So easy, comfortable and cute (and it was winter so they were perfect for the weater too... Some were even yellow lol). People
Bought us cute outfits and they were adorable but not overly functional for a newborn. Plus all the stuff we bought to prepare and clothes we got at the shower only fit for the first couple of months before we had to statt buyin all new stuff

Same here:)

I did use a bouncy chair a bit with my son, but that was about it. Oh, car seats obviously but that didnt matter their gender...I just got the best quality I could in closeout patterns to save money

Oh yeah we got a bouncy seat and a really expensive swing and stuff snd Hannah hated them. She loved her U shaped pillow (like boppy only a different brand) and spent most of her time in that. I actually went out and bought a second one lol

Yeah, a lot of that stuff is kind of a waste until you meet your baby and find out what their personality is:) I used my swing (shower gift) once ever, for less than 5 minutes lol.

Our swing and bouncy chair was free. I used one for both my boys and they loved it. Ours is next to my treadmill so I am hoping that as I am walking the baby can be right there and happy. We have gotten everything used off Kijiji. Our playpen is new, only used once and is obviously new. We got that for $50. Got the crib from a set of grandparents that only needed it for a short time so that is like new condition too for only $60. We got tons of other furniture too (Basinet, stroller and so on) all for way less then the price of new. Luckliy I know what I will likely use and not use.

We did buy some things new, like a few blankets, 2 outfits one of which is a sleeper, the safety kit, ear thermometer and so on. But waited till sales to get them. Being experienced does help in knowing what you will most likely use and need.
