On the "nucular" theme, my Deaf daughter has a "cocular" implant so she can hear. Presumably the electrodes are in her cocula, then.

That should go over well for the speaker at the next convention, eh?

Hmmmm . . . perhaps they are confusing her cochlear implant to correct her hearing with the oft snickered over "cocular" procedure . . . which is an implant that gets its name from the terms "jocular" and, well, "cock" and is an elective procedure for men who are looking for a way to get back their lost jollies ;)

Ahhh.. My friend can't say "Skeleton" she always mispronounces it as "Skelington" and it drives me nuts.. I find myself correcting her constantly.
I have an aunt that talks like that. Except I think she says skelekton...
A few other goodies from her vocabulary:
salat (salad)
ornch (orange)
glove department (glove compartment)
Roger Daltrey fignarines (Royal Doulton figurines)

Oh, I could go on and on... But mosty these bug me most:
Hanged - I cannot for the life of me get over the fact that its said hanged insted of Hung. Arrgh
Full - when its said foooooooll
Pull - same thing as full

When someone gives a seppch and it sounds like: "Im gonna go huntin' tomorrow 'cause huntin' is fun... Plus I likes to go huntin'." I cannot stand it - I do talk without the G somethims, but not when I am presenting something! Arrrh.

Well, then there are word that bother me because of my sick minded friends - but I wont list those.

First of all, Renee, that's just sick. This is a fourteen year old girl- and a girly-girl at that. In fact, it just defies the imagination. I don't think she requires male enhancement.

My mother in law used to use a lot of malapropisms, but they didn't make me mad, some were funny, and some were sort of... profound.

What do you thnink of the "minstrel period" which I assume is that time once a month when us women take to the roads, chanting and playing lutes?

particularly - because I can't pronounce it very well for some reason. It's the ONLY word I have trouble pronouncing

Ambliance - For god's sake! It's AMBULANCE!

You know how some people refer to their pets as their "furbabies" and "furkids"? I've heard people use this when talking about their actual human children... the "skinbabies" and "skinkids."

Lie-berry, I've smacked some of my friends for say that, chimBley is up there too.

Those ones, drives me bonkers also. Its these or this one! GAH!
Those ones, These ones - HATE IT!! A girl I knew used to say that and it drove me insane!! I would correct her every time.

Shut up - especially when directed at me. It is the one phrase that instantly pisses me off. My husband has learned to NEVER say this to me!! :)
