Everyone has a word that drives them nuts....
Personally mine always has been "probono" That word irritates me for some reason beyond my control....
Lately however, "GUSTO" has taken over....

Whats your pet peeve word??

Ah or umm when it appears between every other word in a speakers speech I can not concentrate on what they are saying because I am too busy counting how many times they use it or if said speaker says " you know" or " you know what I am saying ? I often tell them if I knew why are you telling me LOL

"disinterested" used when someone means "uninterested". It has caused "disinterested"- a perfectly good word, to lose all of its original meaning.

Words when overused:
"sucks"
"like"
"cool" - admit I use it too much and make myself cringe at times!

Expressions:
- "high-five" (also think the action is lame and why do some girls do a girly high five that is more like an in the air handshake?)

- "with my luck" or "just my luck" (don't be so **** negative - everyone has good and bad 'luck')

- "quote / unquote" .. with gestures!

Also, can't stand 'bling.' That just grates my nerves. :p

there's more but that's all I've got right now.

High fives are reserved for crowded areas over dumb stuff. I love to shout high five to someone I am eating dinner with and keep my hand held up for enough time to make em squirm.

I also love it when people say "ya know what im sayin?" twice in every sentence. I say "not really, lets go over it again."

"gay" when used in a negative way.

Example: "That's so gay."

I don't understand how that caught on but I don't like it. Anyone saying gay, homosexual, lesbian, dyke, a racist or sexist expression infront of me get's an arm and a leg chewed off.
