This is not a debate here either. Just to see who you will vote for.

If you are not an American citizen and/or not able to vote (due to age or whatever) and want to see results, I will give an option for you.

This way hopefully we can have a more accurate representation of the voting community.

Bob Barr

Until We the People send a REAL message, nothing will ever change. The D's & R's have us so divided... Yet there is so little difference between the two.

Unless something drastic changes, the D's are going to have everything they ever wanted. The White House, full control of the House and possibly a :)yikes:) filibuster proof Senate.... Who will they blame THEN, as things go from bad to worse?

I think Obama will do a better job at bringing people together than most will give him credit for, it won't be Nancy Pelosi running the show. Ever check out is record at the Harvard Review and who he appointed to be running the show with him and how they ran it? Mostly right wing conservatives when everyone was expecting minorities and liberals.

I'm voting Independent. I still haven't decided which yet. I normally would go libertarian without a doubt but I'm not a Bob Barr fan.

If elected, BO would have no say as to who is the Speaker.

FWIW, I would have WAY less of a problem with a BO presidency if his party did not also have full control of the legislature too. Bush had that at first, looks where THAT got us.....

If Obama does what he says he will do... He will NEVER win the hearts and minds of hicks like me, or the business person who busts their rump (read: WORKS for it) to succeeed. BO has clearly laid out a plan that punishes success. That is not the American way.

Why?

Or, check out Chuck Baldwin. Constitution Party.
I can't really put my finger on it, which is sad and not a good reason not to vote for someone I know. I probably will still vote libertarian just because that's actually close to my beliefs.

I'm not sure if it punishes success. First of all, that addresses yearly income, not total value, so you'd have to be pulliing down $200,000 in federally taxable income for that to kick in. Two, we already have a progressive tax system, and always have. Obama's plan puts the high brackets back to where they were under Clinton and Reagan. Indeed, they aren't new taxes, but simply letting the Bush tax cuts expire. For many people, the majority, "success" is something you have long before you hit $200,000. For most people in this country, $200,000 is amazing success. But you are right, its not quite fair . . . I guess the issue is . . . who would you rather be somewhat unfair to? The people who have some money to burn or the people who don't?

It can be fair to everybody.

The Flat Tax. Necessities (Food, clothes, meds) are either not taxed at all, or are re-imbursed quarterly. Everything else has a flat sales tax rate. It eliminates federal income tax.

Think about it... Illegals pay tax. Criminals pay tax.

Now I know it will never happen, short of a violent revolution. Our "leaders" would never give up that power over us.

Obama's plan is pure marxist class warfare. Its kills the initiative to innovate. It will also enhance the desire to HIDE income. It decreases the desire for foreign investment. It sucks, period. It rewards laziness. That is simply not the American way.

You are not guaranteed happiness or success here. Nor SHOULD you be.

I hope I am wrong... But if you think the economy is in the tank now, watch what happens when Bush's tax cuts expire.

But a flat tax isn't fair.

Say you make $20,000 a year. It's safe to assume that 95% of your income is spent on necessities. So, under your tax plan, you are basically taxed on 5% of your income.

Now, say you make $500,000 a year. Let's say you spend 25% of your income on necessities. So that means you are taxed on 75% of your income. How is that fair? You have to pay an insanely higher tax rate just because you can afford more than just food and shelter?

A flat tax like you propose is a big blow against those with disposable income. In my scenario alone, the rich person is is taxed on 25 times the income percentage of the poor man. I don't see that as fair.

I picked the "Choosing not to vote" option. That's not really true, I just forgot to register in time. But I'm kinda glad I didn't register in time, I wouldn't be able to pick between them honestly.
