Hi, please can you tell me the most healthy dog foods that will help in all or most area's of the dog. Skin, coat, every area part of the dog, or any healthest dog foods and what they help or why they are the best, are the stuff they put in the food health wise? No dyes and that to help keep all area's healthy of the dog. I been seeing foods we have here alot of red dye in it or other things, I need to make a list of all the dog foods we get in town as well, I would like to hear your advice for Buddie's welfair please. Thanks. From Canada. (me)

Well, different dogs do better on different foods. I know a lot of people swear by raw. I like the thought of raw, and when I move out I plan on trying it.

As for kibble, I like:

Orijen
Solid Gold
Innova Evo
Timberwolf Organics
GO!
Canidae

But those are just my personal favorites :).

We make our own dog food (Because Miss. princess Gipsy is extremely picky and sensitive) She has a shiny coat, doesn't smell and has no more stomach problems.

She gets:
Organic beef, chopped carrots, parsley, garlic, Liver oil and oats/rice.
The beef gets cooked for about 2 minutes and then is cut up. Oats and rice are also cooked 'till soft. Then the carrot, parsley and garlic are put in a mixer a chopped.
We make the doggy food one a week and freeze the meat, the rest get put in the fridge.

It's less expensive than the top doggy kibble. We pay about 70 Euro a month for her.

my general rule is healthiest is not packaged, the healthiest food is raw meat and bones, vegies and pasta/rice added every 3-4 meals.
We do use kibble though, its an easy filler especially for Sophie who we're trying to keep weight on, hary and Buster don't get much as Harry is trying to loose weight and I'd like to keep Buster mainly on raw.

How is this spam if I want to know good dog foods for my dog? plus my mom has a dog now so why should I give them crap food when I can find out whats better from experperts, do you want my dogs not to have the best food? Have something against dogs? If you have a problem you dont post it saves fights and heated threads. If you can't say something nice dont say nothing at all. How hard is that?

I'm getting Orijen here in Washington state. I've only found it in one particular Doggy Botique, but I understand it is available in other stores around the Seattle area.

You can get Orijen over the internet as well, if you are willing to pay the shipping charges . . . you can pretty much get ANYTHING over the internet if you are willing to pay the charges :D

i agree. just because someone is eager, how is that spam?
Hmm. Eager is one thing, asking non-specific questions in the exact same wording on multiple forums is another.

If you look, most posts offer information about a specific dog, then the poster asks a specific question for a certain purpose. Doggies4Ever has this odd trend of just asking random questions all over these boards with no real purpose. The replies are typically, "Thanks, does anyone else have something to add?" Instead, I would really like to see some less robotic answers like, "Oh, I've heard of that food. Maybe I'll go try it" or something like that.

For example, see Yoko's recent post:

one of my friends recently got a great dane :) it belonged to someone they knows friend. and the danewas in bad shape. they got herspayed and gaining weight *she was sooooo bony it was sad :(* but the problem is she has a real sensitive stomach andthey are running out of ideas for food. do you guys have any suggestions for them? i can't remember what food they moved her to but she's doing better but still not great on it. i told them i'd ask around here because when it comes to food i'm kind of clueless
See the difference?

i understand you being annoyed, Herschel. i just personally don't see it as spam. usually, there is a point to spam - at the very least advertising or general harassment.

is there such thing as dog food having different colors without the use of dyes? I got this puppy food and looked I saw no dye or colors mention and open it at home it has all different colors/shapes, what would be hidden serect words that would mean the same thing as dye's, are they allowed not to mention it in there packaging?? It's Scientice something, (sp?)
