I'm wondering what breeds people really don't like. I've personally had bad luck with spaniels (too nervous), chihuahas (too yappy), and terriers (too hyper).

P.S. Please don't flame me for asking this question :)

Now that I've been around lots of Boxers, I can't say as I really like them at all temperament wise. They're energy is too out of control and all over the place for my liking, and they're too bouncy and snuffly. Not all were this way, but the majority were. I don't mind visiting them for short periods of time, but I'd never want to have a Boxer around for more than a day.

That's really about the only breed I can think of at the moment that I truly don't really care for. There are others, but I have way more tolerance for them than I do Boxers. Of course, that isn't to offend anybody with them - they just simply aren't for me. There are tons of people who can't stand my breed too.

Wire-haired fox terriers...most terriers in general, though all the ones that have the same look as the WHFT (Lakeland, Airedale, Welsh, etc) all make me frown a lot. I have yet to meet one WHFT that I even remotely like, even a little bit. I have met a couple pretty neat Airedales, all rescues even.

I dont really like breeds with smooshed in snouts. Pugs, english bull dogs, boxers, etc. The family pug constantly gets yeast infections in her snout rolls. I do like bull mastiffs though.

As far as temperament wise, I dont care for breeds that are lazy. Not sure if its the norm for pugs and some mastiffs, but I have met a few that were quite lazy. The family pug sleeps like 16 hours a day. She stays in my moms room and when she hears an unusual noise coming from another room she will just bark from my moms room (while laying down) instead of getting off her lazy butt and investigating, lol. But she came from a pet shop, so that could be why she is weird.

It should not be insulting. Not everyone likes every breed or the need for many breeds would not exist .
I do not hate but do not care for poodles or greyhounds, whippets, or dogs with that look.
German Shepard' s , Chows and Akitas scare me so I don't really like them much either.
I hate no dog really I just have preferences as to what I really like and would own. I would never turn a dog in need away because of breed.

American Eskimos. Just have had bad experiences with them.

I also am not very drawn to terriers and schnauzers. I can't see myself owning a terrier ever. Just not for me.

Most Terriers, except for the APBT. Boxers. There are just SO MANY of them, and most of them around here are not trained, so super hyper.

Spaniel types, American Eskimos, Dachshunds (except the wirehaired), GSD's, Shar Peis, Chows, Vizsla, Weims, Beagles...my list is really long. I don't really dislike any dogs. I just have a long list of breeds that would never be right for me and don't interest me.

Generally anything tiny or small sized, as well as cockers, boxers and some terriers. But, I don't think I could ever turn a dog away- I just wouldn't pro-actively seek these animals. :)

I'm not a big fan of small breeds, breeds with pushed in faces, breeds that are real skinny (though some I like, some I don't), most of the breeds with long flowing hair I do not like nor do I like most mastiff's. Not that I despise any, they just aren't breeds I'm usually attracted to. :p

I like that, you say it's insulting but then you go on to say which dog you "hate" lol :p Kinda contradictory! :p lol

Don't take offense to that though, I just thought it was a funny thing to do. :p

I would never own a lab, or a golden, or a sent hound (with the exception of a basenji, but they are both sent and sight) While I think they are handsome dogs, I would never own a husky type breed. Wouldn't own terriers other than JRTs, borders, or patterdales...Not a fan of smooth coated breeds (but love dals)

Not to say I don't like the above. I have met dogs that I adore in all those catagories, but just saying they are not for me. There really aren't any breeds I don't like. I have met horrible JRTs, amd good ones, vicious labs and goofy labs, out of control goldens and the marshmallow kind, wonderfully obedient beagles who beat us in agility :yikes:, so it isn't a bad/great experience with breeds. Just breed characterisics that I don't want to live with.

Labs, Beagles, and Poodles (of any size, though I've found the sizes to have rather different temperaments) will never be found sleeping on my livingroom floor. I really am not a fan of spaniels, retrievers, or toys in the general sense (though there are a few breeds here and there that I really do like).

Most breeds I could never live with. Hell, most DOGS out there I could never live with no matter the breed. Though I can enjoy other people's dogs at work during the day, I am more than happy to know that they will NOT be coming home with me.

While there are individual dogs of almost every breed that I like, there are certain breeds that generally just set my teeth on edge for very different reasons. The top three are easily labs, standard poodles, and mini schnauzers. Labs because of the temperment I see in them around here - I don't like out-of-control, in your face, panting type dogs, and that is what we seem to have in Vermont. I've met a couple really nice ones, but the odds aren't in their favor. Standard poodles just weird me out - not really the way they look or act, but they move in such a bizarre way. Mini Schnauzers because I have yet to meet one that isn't a compulsive barker, and I have a very low tolerance for barking.

There are a lot of breeds that I like but will never own - all of the nordic breeds, most toys and terriers, the guardian breeds, scenthounds...some really cool dogs, but not right for me.
