When I got my Shihtzu/Lhasa pup last week and called up the owner to thank him he said if you ever want to sell him to tell him first, I told the owner if he ever misses him and wants him back he can have him, he was thrilled and said definitely, as soon as he's paid off his loans and regained the amount I paid for the dog.
Now I realise that being asthmatic I am definitely feeling allergic to him, just recovered from a bad attack last month, before I got him, but arent this breed low allergen??? anyways so I called up the owner again and said since you eventually plan to take him back maybe you should in a few days rather than months when we've gotten attached, he said he couldnt pay me the full amount immediately but could give back a large portion of it, and return the rest later.
I agreed but others around me didnt accept saying he might be a fraud who scams people this way. but still I felt his pain of seperation, since then however the dog has grown on us too much we too are not keen to part, but still its his dog to begin with and he sold it to make ends meet, and I do have the allergy issue.
So I call him again, we discuss it, neither of us are sure how badly we want this, I told him to let me know if he can manage to pay back the full amount and he said he'll let me know soon.
Today I called up and told him if its ok I'd like to keep the dog, he asked if I was sure I said yes, he was ok with it, but something made me feel he's not, so I called him again immediately to no reply, then I sent him a dozen messages again no reply to any, I even told him that I'm keen on getting another short hair breed that I have been eyeing since long but couldnt really decide on, and if he could help me get it since its in his home city rather than pay me in cash, so then he responded asking how much that guy wanted I told him the price was a tad more than what I paid for his dog, gave some other details, after which he suddenly replied through text that he didnt want the dog back as he's going abroad and that he wont answer my calls or messages again and not to call on his number anymore as someone else will be using it now.
I do recall in one of our conversations he had said he would feel bad for me if he took back the dog, so maybe he's making excuses and acting this way so I will dislike him and not keep in touch, ad not have to return the dog, basically using reverse psychology, he didnt reply to my dozens of messages after I told him I would like to keep his dog, maybe he was really hurt and disappointed with my decision but at the same time dosent want to cause hurt to me by taking him away since I told him we adore the dog.
I feel really bad for him now.
