As beneficiel as I think it will be for those kids to no longer be in his custody...it's always tragic for a child to lose their parent so young, no matter how wacky they are.

So, in that way, my heart goes out to those little ones. At least they have one stable "parent", ie. the nanny.

I for one always have loved Michael Jackson.... he was a victim of parents who just wanted to make money off of him and that kind of fame at such a young age ruined himunfortunately. I don't really believe all the pedophile allegations... in his later years I think he just became too child like to actually have done it. He reverted back to childhood in an alarming way. So I really don't believe it really happened. I honestly feel bad for him. HIs parents did this to him.... I will always adore him.

yes there have been uncomfirmed reports that he has already died but there is no confirmed updates. :( but it does not look good at all.

I feel that he had a good heart and loved his kids . I only hope that they don't suffer via the hype . add: I agree with you Sparks ....I fault his parents .

I agree. I think he really was a good person... of course I didn't KNOW Him personally so it's just my personal opinion. but being "wierd" doesn't make him a bad person... and if I recall correctly the parents of one of those kids that claimed he inappropriately touched their child did eventually admit that they did it to try to get the money.

As a parent I wouldn't allow my child to stay at some adult (wihtout any children) house... so I really have to wonder about the PARENTS of these kids that claimed pedophilia.

Sparks I agree. I remember an interview with Oprah in his ranch and he just seemed like a child. It's hard to know the truth really, but yeah, maybe it's not fair that everyone sees him as a pedophile now just because he likes (liked) being around children. it really doesn't mean much, especially when you consider how paranoid everyone is about that stuff nowadays.

If he really died... that still makes me sad.

LOL... the LA Times has reported it and the Associated Press has too, but nobody else will re-report it without pointing the finger at the LA Times.

CNN Live News feed says "LA Times: Michael Jackson Dies". They're citing LA Times as a reliable news source for the information. I.E. dead.

I'm sad. I loved him growing up. I hate what he became, but it doesn't change the old memories.

Thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing.

Wow... I don't know what to say other than just... wow.

In other news livejournal.com is broken, the celebrity gossip community there (ohnotheydidnt) has probably killed it.

They are currently setting up for a press conference outside the hospital so we are shortly going to hear it from UCLA Hospital...

ETA: Fox News just said they have confirmed it.

Yeah, even Facebook is majorly bogged down with it at the moment. I expect most "current events" website will be slow as heck for at least the next 12 hours.

Is it creepy to say I've actually been thinking about this the last few days? It was after Ed McMahon so I was already thinking about stars of my childhood passing. I heard old MJ on one of our stations the other day and "I'll Be There" is in that State Farm commercial, and I was idly thinking about how strange it will be when one day he dies...

I wonder if it really was a heart attack..he's awfully young. Born the same year as my mom, in fact.

Being the suspicious person that I am... I wouldn't be shocked if it was a) accidental overdose or b) just plain old "body can't handle this amout of medication". You know he had to have been on a million billion pills for all his ailments and whatnot. He always seemed so sickly. :/

Anyway, my money is on a toxicology report being NOT clean.

Not that young for a heart attack. He was 50. A friend died awhile back at 38. My Dad's sister died at 41. My friend's dad died at 42.

All from a heart attack.
