If I listened to my husband for the 4th time, we would probably have a Boston. That's the kind of dog he's wanted for years.

As much as I don't want one, my husband plans on having another mini Dachshund when we are down to 1 dog. He'll have his Doxie, and I'll have my Dober boy :)

But if I had a REAL choice, without listening to my husband (I am way too nice) I would love a Pap or Toy Poodle to do agility with :)

well growing up with toy poodles of course I love the breed... I never thought I would love another breed like them... Armani just kind of fell in my lap and now I know I could never be without a yorkie they are just AMAZING.

Other small dogs that catch my interest are...
long haired chis
chinese crested
paps (only because of Laurelins dogs)
All the dogs I really want are considered small dogs I guess.:p

Papillions and WELL BRED Chihuahuas. Those are the only small breeds that really have caught my eye.
I complete agree with the well bred Chihuahua comment. My girl is from a BYB and although I believe that socialisation and training play a HUGE role in how a dog matures, I cannot help thinking that genetics also play a part.

I would love to own another Chi, but from a ethical breeder or a rescue of course.

My next dog may very well be a Pap though, I have been researching them for quite some time, although my next dog is a while away. I actually have my choice down to 3 breeds - an amazing feat really. :D I enjoy training, especially agility and tricks, I think they would really suit my lifestyle as well.

Other little dogs that catch my eye are Jack Russell Terriers, Glen of Imaal Terriers, Bichon Frise, Shelties (ok not so small), Poodles, Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen and Min Pins. Oh and the beautiful Cavs.

I also like min pins. But when I get a toy breed, I want a dog who is a lap dog. A dog who is sweet and somewhat calm and just wants to be with you. Thats why I love chis. Min pins are hyper, yappier, and just different from than what I am looking for. Pebbles is half min pin and you can totally tell just from her personality. She is a complete opposite of the pure bred chihuahua I used to have. I will say that I LOVE the look of min pins. King of toy breeds for sure.

I'm with ya on that Reggin. I love my Chis. They're calm, cool and collected most of the time. They'll play and be silly when I rile them up and sometimes on their own with each other. Their antics are like no other dog I've ever seen....those physical movements they make when they play. But they are VERY ready, willing and able to settle right down and curl up on my lap or by themselves in short order. I find them to be very undemanding and compliant little dumplings. I will most likely always have at least two Chis. Wonderful little companion dogs.

Well, I never thought I'd own a small dog until Nellie came along. She's the only dog I've ever seen that could put Corvus in his place. He's so dog aggressive so you know it takes a huge (figuratively speaking) bitch to deal with him, and she does it beautifully.

So, I guess I like fiests.

But by choice, if I were actively seeking a little dog to add to my family .... I've always loved french bulldogs and scottish terriers so I'd probably go for one of those two breeds.

Or just a good ole fashioned mutt. :)

This little crap has been keeping me on my toes. :lol-sign:

I never thought that I'd own a small dog, but then I saw Seamus and fell in love.

I doubt I'd own another, but if I do, it'll probably be a Boston Terrier.

I like...

Pyr Sheps (smooth faced) I WILL have one one day, even if I have to import.

Pugs
I used to think they were "aesthetically challenged" but now I think they are just so cool, they always seem so happy. I want one in the next 5 years or so as a third dog (either a pug or a dane)

This is Daisy, the most titled pug in Australia, she is a dual champion. She does flyball for crying out loud, pugs can do anything!

Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen
I love these dogs, they just look like so much fun.

Chihuahua

I used to prefer long coat, but now I'm easy, either way.

Reggin, if you like the look of the min pin but still want snuggly--my Manchester is the best of both worlds. I love there sharp black and tan looks and Zippy is the most velcro, heat seeking, snuggly dog I've ever seen LOL! Toy Manchesters can weigh as little as 8lbs or less (with a max of 12lbs) and the standard manchesters can weigh as much as 22lbs or so. Zippy here is about 17lbs although he was bred to be a toy.
