"Cats are impossible to houstrain."
-Yeah, that would be why my cats took a few weeks and your kid is still wetting the bed.
panda has never gone in the house unless its my own stupid fault (ie - i forget he's getting older and can't hold on all night and close my door completley when he's inside. i wke up to a pretty yuck smell those nights. but he never had to be "houstrained" he prefers to go outside as opposed to the litter tray even

"Don't pet my cat she's sick/doesn't know you/doesn't like you/in a bad mood/doesn't like being petted there."
"Oh, no, cats just looooooove me!"
or
"Oh, it's alright, she doesn't mind."
-And then they are shocked when Chili rears up and scratches them in the face, and give me horrified looks proclaiming how vicious she is. I TOLD YOU NOT TO PET HER YOU IGNORANT ASSHAT. Have some alcohol on those scratches. You only get neosporin and a band-aid after I'm sure you've been traumatized enough to not pet my cats ever again.
that remind me of soemthing funny.

panda really hates strangers but he picks people that he decides he likes.
at the garage sale we had a while ago, he strolled out, straight up to this woman and smooched all her legs and she just bent down and patted him. usually his reaction to anyone new is to just walk past them as fast as he can but he really liked this person.

we said "he likes you, you must be a cat person" and she said "i have 12" lol
this is the cat that it took 6 years for him to talk to the rest of my family other than me and i'm still te only one that can crawl all over him or rest my arm over him and not have him get all uppy and slink of. but he picked this woman form ages ago and especially came to talk to her

SORRY- off topic

Well lets see, not many people know what a Keeshond is, so mostly we get:

"Oh, mommy, look at that dog!" They try to whisper so I don't hear them, or the opposite. They'll say it loud to get my attention.

"What kind of dog is that?" I understand not knowing. Until we saw Max at the shelter, I had no idea what a Kees was.

"Hey puppy!" Umm, he's 10...and not small either :D

"Mommy! Look at that BIG dog!" He's not that big...

"Does he shed a lot?" Surprisingly not that much. Even with all that fur!

"Isn't he hot during the summer?" This one makes me laugh :p.

"Can I pet him?" I like when people ask. Its funny though, when they stop, he barks at them. He's got a big bark, so this tends to scare them away.

Oh I got some good ones for these!

"Kids stay back from that [OC] dog, he is a wolf! Hey lady, don't you know its illegal to own a wolf around here?"
-um ya, and don't you know it's illegal to be that stupid?

[when I had OC out with his backpack on] "Oh what a wonderful Golden Retriever! Isn't it wonderful how they train these guys to help the...erm...differently abled....would it be too bold of me to ask what yur problem is?"
-I dunno where to even begin with this one!

"Look! Snow Dogs!"
-last I checked it's 40C!!!!

"Look! Husky-dogs!!!"
-is there any other animal with the class of "husky"?

"Niether of them can be purebred, they don't have 2 blue eyes! This one [OC] is 1/4 Husky and this one [Ronan] is 3/4 Husky because that is how much blue is in their eye total."
-wow I didn;t know eye pigmentation and breed were linked that closely! >_<

Them: "Do you run the...um...you know....that big long race... with them?"
Me: "You mean the Yukon Quest? The Iditarod? The Bear Grease Trail? No, but we do compete in sprint dog sled racing"
Them: "Oh so you are still training for the Idi....[trails off as they have no idea how to pronounce it]
Me: "No trainign for sprints and training for long distance is very different and the dogs bred for each one can also be different to some extent"
Them: "Different? But I thought only Huskies are used!"
-usually around here if not earlier I give up and walk away

"He's [OC] big for a Husky! He must be crossed with a Malamute"
-OC is in the upper limit of a Husky but still within standard

"Awww what a cute Malamute puppy!"
-OC is 4

I could go all day with these but I'll add the latest one since it is the most recent one and the silliest:

Them: "He [Ronan] is a Fox-dog!" (that's right, this guys TOLD me what Ronan is, not asked me)
Me: "No, he is a purebred Siberian Husky"
Them: "There is no way any dog is as orangey-red as he is, plus look at his head shape, he is a fox-dog!"

This is a red fox:

This is Ronan:

haha. i love when i take my bearded dragon out and get "oh look, an iguana." or the chinchillas and i get " look, a guinea pig", or even better " a hamster".

i got Samoyed a lot with my eskie.
Thats funny because we had an Iguana years ago. he was huge. We moved and I set him on the grass at the new house to sun himself for a moment and the elderly lady next door caught site of him and started screeching " Harold , They have an alligator over there ! " I nearly peed my pants laughing. We were able to talk to her later and it was ok . But at the moment she was hysterical.

I've gotten a lot of "He's so pretty" and "Is that a Husky?"

My favorite quote so far-

OC and Cessena. Those 2 stories are funny LOL . Ive seen so many morons claim they have wolves. opposite of your prob. I like to ask just where did you find a " wolf " to sire your pup ? They never have an answer. People can be so dumb. They seem to completely lack any common sense.

Reecie-Chocolate Labrador Retriever

"OMG that dog is HUGE, what kind of dog is that!?" Hello, never seen an overweight lab!?

"Mommy, can I pet the doggy" "No sweety" (all the while giving suspicious glare at her)

"Aw, you'll never find anything more loyal than that chocolate baby you have with you" That made me happy

"It must take a lot to feed that thing" Not when she's on a diet!

Maggie-Dalmation mix

"My dog doesn't like white dogs" This lady said this while walking her Cattle dog mix.

"Aww, look at the dalmation, can I pet her?" I never feel like explaining that she's not a purebred dalmation.

"Is dat a pit boo?" Some little kids asked me this at PetSmart.

Giny! feel free to use it! lol.

as for ronin and the fox comment...geeze, the size difference alone should eb enough, red foxes are TINY compared to your boys lol

i do get "its illegal to own foxes here" about both dodger and vixie...vixie because shes red and we all knwo any red dog must be a red fox, and dodger its always fennec fox, which ill admit between the colour, size and ears theres a resmbalance but no his ears arnt THAT big lol

haha. my favorite was when i was babysitting a five year old boy (at my house) and he looked in Aidan's (the beardie's) tank and said " OHHH a little baby dinosaur!"

About both of mine
Are they mom and pup? No they aren't related, the fact that they are both white is a co-incidence
Now and again I was asked if I was sure that Tyr was not Princess pup. I'll admit, I'm not always the most observant person but I'd hope I'd notice if I came home one day to a litter of puppies... not just "oh a random small dog, well he must be mine he's in my house." And also Princess was fixed from the day I got her.
You have really nice dogs Thanks, I like them
Can I/we pet your dogs? sure kids, go for the gusto!

About Princess:
You have a very nice white shephard/is that a white shephard? Nope she's an alaskan husky from up in iqualuit. She looks like a white shephard to me. and you look like your daft to me, but luckily for you looks aren't everything
What kind of dog is that? She's an alaskan husky, more from freighting then racing. No that can't be right, my dad had huskies and she doesn't look anything like them. Well that's interesting that you would say that, because my dad had intelligent children and you don't look anything like one, so I guess you can't be all that smart.

About Tyr
Oh he's big! Really? well I guess that would explain why he takes up so much space at my house! Thanks for clearing that up for me
Does he shed alot? No all the white hair on my clothing/in my car, that's a fasion statement, I'm trying to bring back to dog fur look
He looks like he's a good sled dog/finally getting some real dogs here (said by other sledders at a race last year.) Thanks, but he goes like crazy but he's still only 1 so he's got some calming down to do.

Tankstar, Sharky, OC, Fruitbat.. you guys have me in tears. LOL!
Yeah this is a good thread.

I always get the same " what kind of dog is that ? " or " she's so sweet " about Sadie. She's pretty big. I don't honestly know what she is. A hound of some sort. But they are right about her being sweet.:)
Ive had mixed comments on Dennis and Milie. " Ewww a rat," Or the ankle biter thing. Some people are nice and think they are cute.

People have asked me if my 3 chis are "a family."

Yes, Rylie and Madison somehow had this little blue merle puppy

I guess since they are all chihuahuas, people can't seem to fathom that they come from different places. Or, since Orlando is the chihuahua BYB capital of the world, they think it's normal to house generation after generation of chihuahua.

I'm glad I was able to give yuo guys a laugh LOL In the moment I was just stunned by the ignorance, but when I look back upon it, it is pretty funny!

A couple that really stuck out when I was at the UKC Premier:

While walking Dourado:

"That's the worst looking Leonberger I have ever seen!"
-That's a relief because he's an Estrela Mountain Dog

While walking Drago:

"What a kick@$$ pit bull!"
-Where? Couldn't possibly be referring to the dog I'm holding because he is a Presa Canario....

LOL again OC. Now I get to accuse you of making me cry...

Keep it coming with the ignorance, guys. It's even funnier when you all add sarcastic comments to it.

Hershey and Whisper..

-they are good dogs, and won't bite any one!!
-Labs don't get mean!

Thats what my uncle said about Labs. And yes, Hershey would bite whoever took a hold of his collar. Whisper, is just a mouthy puppy right now. But thats the comments I have gotten from my family.

I've had people ask me if Tucker and my neighbours dog (a cocker mix) where 'mummy and daddy'

Then the same lady went on to proudly say her two shitzu's (ugliest things I've ever seen) were 'daddy and son'.

Oh lord. LOL

^LMAO.

I dread going to the vet's office/petstore/park with the dogs for the sole reason of being asked stupid questions.

"So, is that a girl dog?" Referring to Rylie/Chloe/Madison.

Well, Rylie and Chloe are girls

And then I know exactly where it is going...

"Is the other one a boy? Are you breeding them?"

No, they are all neutered...

"Oh... because they would have really cute puppies. I breed chihuahuas, so I know they would."

Then this person continues to tell me about the 8 related chihuahuas they have living with them, and how cute they are.

Or... another time when I was at the vet's office and holding Rylie:

"Why are you holding her? Is she on her period?"

Like wtf?!?! She is spayed.. and why would one jump to the conclusion that she was on her period because I was holding her?!

Also, I've had various people ask me how much money they were... which always creeps me out. I usually answer with, "Enough."
