We use various flat collars for ID purposes, martingales for walks, occasionally a head halter or front lead harness for training, and fleece lined body harnesses for hiking or rollerblading.

A multitude of leather, nylon, rubber, and cotton collars for fashion and IDs. A harness for sailing (because I have an image of her falling overboard and grabbing her with the big hook). A leash/martingale combo for agility. Most of the time - nekkid.

rolled leather for Aesop on walks, along with a braided kangaroo tag collar that just holds his tags for around the house.

Grimm wears a rolled leather collar

paco collar for the Elf

and Jules wears his braided kangaroo leather tag collar for tags around the house. The tag callar is light weight and able to slip over their nuggets easily if needed. It's also very lightweight, so very comfy for both boys to wear:) Going to get Grimmy one soon as well

Jasmine has a fabric one that I got somewhere online and I think I may get her a martingale because her collar has slipped over her head before. For walks she's on an Easy Walk harness because she does a little pulling.

Domino has a Dublin Dog collar since she likes to swim. She had a fabric one before but it faded fast and got stinky. She's walked on a Gentle Leader because she can pull like a freight train. I have worked on this with her and she's gotten much better at least around home but it's a slow process. I also like to have the head control in case of dog confrontations.

If it were just up to me they'd probably have a lot of different ones just for style but hubby always complains that they don't need more than one each. :p

Only have little guys here so no collars for us... we use harnesses... I have Puppia and PuppyOne styles currently... although I have been trying to decide between either a buddy belt or a similar silk step in because getting the Puppia over their head is getting annoying.

Sienna has a collection, too. Being a Sheltie mix, she has that Sheltie mane so flat buckle collars look really weird on her - they push all her fur up around her face so she kinda looks like a lion with an afro, lol. So for her tags, she wears a rolled leather collar that's buckled loose so it rests at the base of her neck, near her shoulders. Wasn't the cheapest collar, but it flatters her and it will last forever.

The leather collar is *really* loose, though, and she'll slip out of it, so the leash attaches to a martingale. The martingale tends to get her white chest dirty, and the fit closely resemble that of the flat buckle collar. So I got her a metal 'choke chain' type collar which I use sometimes instead of the martingale. Actually, the leather collar also turns her white fur dingy, so she doesn't wear it around the house, and sometimes I just walk her on the choker. After a bath, sometimes the tags even go on the choker! :D Until I walk down to the coffee shop and have to tie her out front while I order, then I remember why I have a martingale.

She also has a couple of harnesses, which I bought for several reasons. First, I liked the idea of a harness vs. a collar. Second, I thought they might look better on her than the flat buckle collars (see lion with afro, above :D) Nope, she looks just as weird in a harness. Third, she doesn't walk on the flexi lead, because she's so sensitive to the tension she won't pull against it, so I thought a harness might help with that. Nope. Although, like BostonBanker's dog, she does wear it on the boat so I can fish her out if she falls in! ;)

So that's one rolled leather collar, one martingale, one choke chain, two harnesses....sheesh, I didn't mean to write a novel about collars!

ETA: I'm kinda jealous of you guys that can buy cute buckle collar for your dogs!

I have tons of collars for Gavroche lol. Generally I use a flat nylon collar, and occasionally a nylon/chain martingale (he doesn't really need the martingale anymore, but it looks awesome on him, so I put it on for photo shoots or times I want him to look spiffy lol).

For a leash I typically use a nylon over-the-shoulder multi-function lead. I lurve it so much. I do have other nylon leads, too, but I don't like them as much - not as much flexibility. And again, with the black leash with silver rings, it looks awesome with him, especially when he has the black and silver martingale on. I cannot stand chain leashes. Ew. I would love to get a leather multi lead one of these days.

Caleb's collar is this one, but with a quick release. Pawmark - Trainer Proven Products
I want! That would go quite well with that leather multi lead I want so bad ;)

Only a flat nylon collar here. And a reflective collar for our night time walks.

Edit - I do have a harness, but only for the car. I would like a harness, a comfortable safe walking one, just so we can go on walks in clear spaces on a long line and I can practice our recall.

we have all kinds of collars and harnesses around here. at home, the bullies wear flat collars. we have leather, nylon, hemp. luce has a pink limited slip collar that i *love*. there's a martingale or three around here somewhere.

for going out, luce wears either a prong collar or a nylon slip collar in addition to her flat collar. mushroom wears a gentle leader. steve wears either a flat collar or a harness depending on what we're doing and where we're going.

The hounds have day-glo or day-glo with reflective strips, and lighted collars for hunting. I usually use lupine martingales for training/walking. We have a prong for difficult walkers (ok, just my pit when we're in public around *a lot* of other dogs), tons of flat collars (nylon and leather) for different holidays/fancy occasions. And a garmin tracking collar for hunting :) The only thing I don't think I own is a harness...

Sam has been using regular flat nylon collars. He has three so far just because he's grown so much. When he's older I want to get a nicer lookign one but not until he's done growing.

For walking he has a head halter (halti).

What kind of harness do you have for the car? A lot of them can also be used as walking harnesses. I have an Easy Rider and it's great for hiking, too.

Finn has several flat nylon buckle collars, and we usually use a harness for walks/jogs.

We use a step-in harness, the kind with two d-rings on the top.

Middie wears nylon martingales with fabric overlays primarily. He also has a plain martingale and a few flat buckle collars in nylon, fabric, and leather.
