What color do you prefer for dogs? It can be either for dogs in general, or just your breed.

The poll only lets me pick 10 options, so I tried to get as many as I could. Soooo if your answer doesn't fit, be sure to reply with it in here :D

I like options and variety in a breed... I'm more a markings type girl rather than color. I like dogs that have a blaze. Either Irish spotting or particolor. (Irish spotting is like the traditional collie pattern- white blaze, white on the neck, legs, tail tip).

I really like black and white and tricolor on all breeds except shelties. In shelties I like a deep mahogany sable or bi black. I also like deep red and white, but I prefer black pigment. (like Irish setter type reds)

I don't much care for solid colors in general. Not much of a merle person either.

I couldn't vote for particolor because it was grouped with white and I don't like solid white. I think I'll just vote 'tri'.

Black<3 I agree there is just something so beautiful about it... Plus I love shiny it is, especially when the sun hits it!

I also love Merle and Red though. :D

 No room for pasta?

I guess out of the options up there, I'd have to pick tri :)

I love the merley monsters. Before Mina I didn't care for them all that much, the pattern looked to 'busy' to me if that makes sense. But she's such a pretty girl (I might be just a bit biased ) that I've fallen in love with all kinds of merles.

I love black dogs. And if not black, than merle. I don't particularly like the blue coloring, but I LOVE blue brindle Pitties. Go figure. LOL

In corgis, I love black headed tri with a lot of black on it. Considering malinois technically (by FCI standard) only come in fawn, that would have to be my color choice for them.

When I had GSDs I liked black/tan or black/red again with a lot of black on them.

I do tend to prefer the looks of darker colored dogs, but not solid. I also love Tyr's coloring, mainly because of the way it changes. He gets darker and redder over the winter and then lightens in the summer.

I love brown dogs. Especially a rich, deep, chocolatey brown (like Ripley). I've always had a thing for brown dogs. If a dog/breed comes in different colours, and one of those colours is a shade of brown, then I'll always opt for the brown as my preference (whether or not it's actually called brown -- could be liver or red or chocolate depending on the breed). For example, I like: liver Dalmatians, liver Flat-Coats, red Dobermans, red Border Collies, etc.

Merles (blue and red) are another favourite of mine, but I'm kinda picky on the pattern. And I like orange and red dogs too (like Tollers, Pharaoh Hounds and Ibizans). Sable is another favourite of mine.

And I like my dogs to have markings. There are a few solid breeds that I like, but mostly I tend to prefer a dog with markings (be it rust points, spots, white areas, a mask, etc.).

As for my favourite colours in my breeds, I'll always have a major preference for red Dobermans over black. And the darker the coat, the better. With Tollers, I prefer medium-minimal white and a rich, dark red coat, but I'm not too picky with Tollers as long as they're not very heavily marked.

I don't have a preference, though most people would assume I did seeing as how most of my dogs are brown or red. Really, though, it wasn't planned that way;)

You know, I thought long and hard on this, and I really don't have an answer. I have ooh'd and aww'd over black dogs, white dogs, speckled dogs, striped dogs, and everything in between. I have never said to myself "I want a dog that looks like xyz." I have favorite fur types, favorite size, favorite temperament--but color is just an after thought to me.

Apparently I need a pasta option.

Definitely black. Since I learned that black dogs are not considered as adoptable and are frequently PTS I've made it a point to adopt black dogs whenever possible.

I don't know what it is but I love merle coloring type dogs. I've never owned one but I always think every one I've ever seen is gorgeous.

I love a lot of different colors on a lot of different dogs but if there is a choice for merle, I'm almost definitely going with that one

Not gonna lie and try and say that the fact that Koolies were a predominantly merle breed was not something that drew me to them
