Anyone have a preference out of these wet foods for cats?

petco has: Eagle Pack, Natural Balance, Royal Canin, and Solid Gold

Petsmart has:Blue Spa, along with a few of the above ones.

Pet World has: innova, California Natural, Chicken Soup and Felidae, they probably have more but this is all I know they have.

So which do you think would be best or what do you like. Also if you could tell me the texture I would appreciate it.

My cats have never had wet food since my parents always thought it made their teeth rot but since i am now educated I want wet food to help prevent crystals and kidney problems and i think my parents will go along with it. So anyone have a favorite?

Only one of my 2 cats llikes wet and it's Innova. As soon as I open the can, he goes right to his room to eat. I buy the large size cans and store it in the refrigerator. He and the other cat also get Innova dry.

Apache is currently being switched to Innova dry. So we also tried her on Innova canned and sometimes she likes it, she's quite picky with her canned food. We've tried all of the good canned foods.. praire, wellness, california natural, chicken soup, that are readily available to us and she still prefers fancy feast. That's being phased out, though.

Typical :p What do you guys think of Natural Balance wet? They seem to have a variety of flavors so if they don't like one I can try the others without switching brands.

lol, Maxy. They have these new ones, or at least new to us that have sardines and shrimp and fish and you actually see that they are sardines and the like. NASTY! She LOVES them!

To be honest, when we get Buddy's test results back and learn what he is allergic to, we'll be switching him from NB. There are better foods out there to feed, IMO. Which is why all of my animals are eating high quality food or at the very least being phased into it like her Highness, who is demanding her canned dinner as I type. :)

I know the dry dog isn't great but I didn't know if the wet was better or not. The only I hesitate with Innova is price. How much does it cost?

Hmm, I don't recall about the price. Sorry! We got the big cans of the Innova and we put the remaining in the fridge. :)

The small cans here sun about 75 cents but the large can which is more than double the small can is only $1.29. It really saves you a lot of money buying the larger can.

panda gets the expensive stuff. he used to get whiskas but we tried him on those $1.20 cans one day and he now refuses anything less. lol

he has a pretty good diet i reckon. he gets biscuits and a can or 2 everyday. plus when the dogs are fed i cut off some raw meat for him or give him a couple of small chicken necks.
we also found a brand of cat mince which he loves. and any small bones that he can have like the tips off raw chicken wings so his teeth don't get too bad.

he eats a lot actually. my friends call him obese but i've seen their cats and they are these tiny weedy little things.
i don't think they understand that Panda is half british shorthair and his father was a mix but he was BIG. Panda is heavy but he's a prety big cat, and i wouldn't let him get fat.

Oh he's so cute! Looks a lOT like my heart cat (RIP). Innova is great cat food but you shouldn't free feed with it, because it's easy for a cat to gain weight on it. Otherwise, I think it's a wonderful food. After that, i would go with Felidae.

I also am a believer that cats need SOME canned food because so many of them are terrible drinkers and it's a good way to get more water into them.

I got some Felidae and Neko hates it :( Willie will eat it but he's not really a fan, I think for him the texture might put him off. I tried the chicken and rice but I still need to try the other one. If it tastes good enough for both of them then maybe Willie will not mind the texture. If Neko still does not like it then i will try a different brand. So what brands have a different texture? i once gave them a can of Fancy Feast, one of the medleys, the chicken was chunks in some sauce thing. They LOVED it, but the ingredients are nasty. Here is what it was http://www.elegantmedleys.com/

anyone know good foods with that texture? What is innova like? Felidae was what i guess you would call pate.

Your cat is adorable and wayyyyy not fat, Maxy. :) One of my cats was so heavy when I took him in from my nephew, that he actually had fat rolls going down his chest!! He's lost a couple of lbs. now, and those fat rolls, on his chest anyway. LOL

I had to chip in my 2¢ here on the Natural Balance. I have 3 older cats (10-13) that I've fed good quality foods to over the years and I've tried Natural Balance a couple of times. They've never been particularly crazy about it, but after I tried it again last fall, we won't be doing that again.

One of my cats has never been a vomiter (he's 10 now) and I've always switched their food around quite a bit, so they're used to change. But after giving them Natural Balance the first morning last fall he vomited green for the next 3 days. When that cat vomits, I pay attention!! I was about to take him to the vet when he finally stopped, and I swore off NB for good.

Fortunately, (or unfortunately, who knows?) I was feeding them Friskies canned when the recall happened, which I used to do for only a week here or there. But I've never seen Friskies on any of the recall lists, so I'm staying with that until this thing has settled down.

Maxy I never met a cat that didn't like Fancy Feast. It's the ultimate Big Mac.
I know, everyone I talk to has said their cats love it, well that's not enough for me they need to love it and get nutrition from it. I fed the other kind and Neko loves it and Willie likes it the same as the other type. My new problem is that it gave them piddly poop that smelled like skunk (very very close to skunk, no lie) and made them (Neko mainly) produce far more poop than ever before. So time for a new brand I just don't know what. Maybe a can of Innova (depending on the price) and a can of Evangers (If I can find one without Menadione in it).

Let's face it Maxy. Nobody can go on a food strike like a cat can. lol

My cats totally rejected Felidae the first time I tried it. I ended up giving a 15 pound bag to strays. But I tried it again and beefed it up with some ground turkey and then they got into it. The thing is, it's hard to get cats to just switch after they are used to eating junk food. I had two cats that were Science Diet addicts, believe it or not. had a heck of a time getting them off it, but got sick of all the intestinal issues that crap caused. So be a little creative and you might just trick them.

Actually, wet food does not effect whether the cat has crystals or not. Many sites say that it does, but seriously, how many times have they tested that on poor animals?
My cat got crystals and the wet food did NOTHING!
I midd Figgy.. I wish those stupid emergency vets could of helped him before it was too late :(

A horrible way to die, a pet with blockage.

Actually wet food helps because it provides far more moisture to cats that are notoriously bad drinkers of water. The idea is the more liquid you give your cats, the better the chances of good hydration, which in turn keeps the urine from being concentrated and helps flush out the urinary tract.
