Luka was returned once, but it was not her fault. The family that adopted her had a daughter that became very sick and they were going out of town to a specialized clinic pretty often, so they felt it was in her best interest to be returned. Mandy was just a baby when we adopted her, and we are her first and last home. :)

I was Bandit's third home by the time he was four and a half months old! The poor tyke. He came from booneyville with Spanky when they were 12 weeks, went to live with a friend of my mom's, they went on vacation but didnt pick him up from my house when they got back (they took their other two dogs and left him!), so I tried rehoming him. He was almost gone when his original owners asked for him back. That didn't last long and now he's happy with us. He's such a good dog.

Well Gus is a rescue dog, it's a long story but he came originally from Belgium so how he ended up in the south of France is a mystery???!!!

Perle was taken from her mother at 4 weeks as she was trying to kill the puppies, she was seriously rejecting them... Linda the owner of Perle's mummy gave her to her Grandma, after about 3 months she went up to visit Christian and his family and of course they made the "Awwwww puppy" noises, and she said, "Do you want her?" Christian said he would have to think about it, and so she left with Perle.... 30 mins later she rang up and said "Well do you want her?" So Christian said "Yeah alright" So he's had Perle since she was about 3 months.... And when he moved in, so did Perle! :p

She wasn't adopted and returned.. she simply wasn't adopted.
She spent long enough in the Gatineau SPCA(which is a good few months) without an adoption that transferred her to the Ottawa Humane society where she sat (apparently nobody had even come to see her for about a month when I came) from april until June when I adopted her.

Nope. the shelter we are getting our new girl from tries to only take in strays. dogs that have already been discarded.

Our girl has been there since September. never had anyone interested in her until we came :D and the only reason I could see that someone might not want to take her home is she is a BIG TIME drooler lol but I don't mind that :D

Don't forget that sometimes excessive drooling is a sign of stress. Virgo drooled quite a bit at the shelter and for the first few days I had her. Now the only time she drools is when she's staring at my plate of food. :)

Of course, I don't know what type of dog your new girl is (my computer has been making me miss a bunch of new threads lately); she could be a perma-drooler. :D

yup, Max was returned, When he was only four months old. The family that got him said that he was so energetic and chewed too much (i have no idea why they got a puppy then) they also said he was aggressive and bites and nips her little children. I was four when we got him and he never tried to bite or nip me and is not human aggressive at all. All i can say is thank god they returned him or i would have never met him.

I don't think any of mine were, but they all came from a shelter that did great pre-adoption checks, which minimizes the chances of a bad match. The most 'returned' notes I see on kennels are in the county shelter, which undoubtedly has less resources to screen dogs and people.

yoshi wasn't returned but she was taken away because her first owners didn't feed her and left her chained up outside in their front yard so she could protect their y ard :'( if you look at a pic of yoshi she's not a very scary looking protector anyway. she's a lover not a fighter

Toka was returned twice after being picked up as a stray and transferred to a rescue. They returned her for excessive energy. At best guess she's a pointer BC mix, so energy wasn't a big surprise.
