Thanks for asking. He slept pretty much all day and woke up right around feeding time. :lol-sign: Gotta love them corgis.

He's still not as perky as he should be, but wasn't as out of it as he had been this morning.

He then almost fell while trotting back to his crate for feeding. :( His hind end just gave out.

I hope when you see the vet today that you get encouraging news. Let us know what you find out. Hugs.

Add me in to what Barb said. Hope he's feeling better soon. Does sound like something like a UTI, or maybe kidney stones?

Thanks everyone for all the wonderful vibes!! He was briefly perky this morning, but not where he should be.

The vet appointment is at 12:30 North Carolina time, so I'll update after we get back.

Could he have had a spinal injury? (back legs giving out, the episodes where he couldn't control his bladder?) Gosh, I hope he'll be okay.

The back legs giving out are more likely his hips. That's not new, but he hasn't had a slip like that in a while. And it's not exactly his hips...it's the arthritis in his shoulders causes him to shift his weight to his hind end and his hips just can't support it.

A pinched nerve is a possibility though. :(

There was blood and crystals in his urine. He's on antibiotics and hopefully that will clear up the pooping difficulties as well. The near fall seems unrelated to the urine problem.

The vet also noted that there's some slight clouding in his eyes, which he said is normal for a dog Ares' age. :( I don't want Ares to be an age where it's normal. :(

Just wanted to update.

He is feeling better. He's no longer uncomfortable after pottying, his eyes are brighter. He's still not playing the way he usually does, but he is playing a little.

I don't know. I just recently changed everyone from prairie to taste of the wild because three of them had itchy ears that looked like an allergy issue. Those are pretty much the only two food that I know all of them can tolerate. It's been so refreshing to have one food for all of them after years of feeding several different foods.

I'm going to wait and see if he continues to have UTI issues after the meds are done. If so, then yea, I'll find him something else to eat.

I am very glad to hear he's starting to feel better cp :)

Phoebe is ten now and starting to get "cloudy" in her eyes, our vet said the same thing "normal for a dog her age" and I felt the same way you do........I don't want her to be "aging" like that :(

Also wanted to mention something you may already know, Apple Cider Vinegar. It's very good for people and animals alike for many reasons, but ESPECIALLY urinary tracts. A tablespoon a day (or you could read up on recommended dose for his size) mixed in his food could really be beneficial to him in the future :) Just thought I'd toss it out there.
