Its not projected here in the 5 day but the 3 day has it headed straight for us and a SHARP turn north. Those sharp turns rarely if ever happen that close to shore with the waters we have. SOooooo we got our supplies (my house will be its own mini ocean if its under a 4) If its over a 4 which it is projected to be 140 MPH winds when it get up here IF it comes from SC if not we will get 150 MPH. SOOOOOOO we are also reserving a hotel to stay in if thats the case. I will NOT ride out a 4+ with kids much less a infant. Sadly we dont have any family or friends here to evac to so this will be fun.

Lets hope it stays away.

Yep there are some on his list that need to stay though. LOL.

Seriously though if this hits us at the intensity its thought to be and its a head on hit its going to be BAD. its a Cat 4 and our waters arent going to lessen it any. Which means if it hits here its VERY likely we could not have a home to come back to. We do have a hotel reserved in Raleigh but we are just hoping that it stays the course it is right now which looking at it and knowing storms its unlikely. They are expecting a almost 90 degree turn. This is a LARGE storm, and fast not to likely to turn on a dime when we arent expecting a cold front.

It is nasty mom.

Jeremy and I are geussing 500-600 miles across. So no matter what we will get hit by something. Its projected to be 140-130 MPH winds when its off our coast. If the eye stays off shore we are staying. If it looks like it will flood we have a friend a few miles up the road thats a higher elevation.

Dont trust what the Weather Channel says they are a bunch of morons.

Heres your best bet to keep UTD on it: Atlantic Hurricane Earl

That too LOL. Mine is NOAA (national oceanic and atmospheric association). Thats sorta their thing LOL. I do like Weather Underground though never used it till now. I also have a husband who used to be in a Storm Chaser club and has a slight obsession with Hurricanes LOL and we both grew up in hurricane areas so we just use it to see what the levels are. Computer tracking is a geussing game at best. And I wasnt telling you that just in case other people wanted to see. :)

I caught an update on that this morning, looks pretty nasty. All y'all on the East Coast hang in there, fingers and toes are crossed it blows itself out enough before it reaches land.

Thats the problem unless we get a BIG cold front at least here it wont. Here our waters a 80 deg. To decipate we need a cold front or at least cooler water temps to break it down some. Basically with the heat this year. We are ****ED.

Thanks yea it does. I hate thinking how bad it is but Im a realist with this.

Im leaving thursday with the kids and the dogs on Thursday so I dont get stuck in traffic. Mom said she would pay for it if I needed her to. Jeremy will follow after work if its still looking bad.

Good for you for heading out early... it may end up not being as severe but with kids and animals definitely better safe than sorry.
