I wanted to post an update to a previous post I'd made a few days ago on the little 3 yr old girl selling watercolor paintings on ebay, to pay for vet bills for their family dog seriously hurt in a dog attack... but unless I'm blind... I don't see my post about this, and it must have been removed. I know there was at least one person here that was concerned and posted, I guess I'll post the update from the owner of this dog, so that anyone following and wondering will know how Duncan is doing. The 2,400+ people on the blind dog list I help on has given overwhelming support, prayers and donations to this family (and there were photos of this poor dog posted on the ebay listing... that seem to be gone now... so I won't post it again)... or anything to do with money. I'll just post the update, and ask for prayers for this family, and their sweet hero, Duncan.

~~~~~Letter to the blinddogs list ~~~~~~
Hello everyone. I am the father of the little girl raising money for
Duncan to help offset the vet costs. I am proud of her for wanting
to do this and she is only 3. I cant thank everyone enough for the
well wishes and prayers and donations we have received. Just a
little background on Duncan. He stepped in front of our daughter on
that dreadful day and became the prime target instead of my
daughter. He was out-sized 3 to 1 against this other dog, but that
didnt matter. His neck was torn apart and severly cut, his fur and
skin was torn off all the way back and it looked like he had been
scalped. It was hanging off and dragging from the back of his body.
His back leg was so severly bitten through and mangled that the
doctors thought there was no way to save it. He had severe bruising
and swelling around the groin area from being jerked back and forth.
On the day May 3 I was at work and received a phone call from my
hysterical wife and I raced home not knowing what was happening. My
daughter witnessed the whole horrific nightmare, my wife's finger was
bitten through trying to pry the other dog off (another doctor
bill). I came through the door and couldnt ever explain the
nightmare I stepped into. I picked up Duncan wrapped him in
blankets, got my family into the car and sped off to the vet. Not
knowing whether or not he was going to make it, we never once thought
about it and told the vets to do whatever. We knew we didnt have
money to do this and we knew the bills were going to mount up. But
Duncan is not only a hero to my daughter and my family, he is also
like another one of our children. All in all, Duncan received 320
stitches and staples ($5.19 each to put in) and lo and behold He just
the other day had them all taken out ($3.00 each) His skin has re-
attached and his wounds are healing. His swelling is down, but his
immune system is weak and he just contracted Bronchitis and is on
antibiotics. He was in a state of shock for 3 days. He has received
numerous x-rays, hydrotherapy, surgery, syringe feedings, bloodwork,
baytril injections, sedations, etc. Bills have mounted and we never
once questioned it. We started running out of groceries and decided
to start selling whatever we could get our hands on in our house.
Being an avid golfer I even sold those :0(. So to make this story
shorter, Isabella decide she wanted to draw pictures of Duncan and
sell them like her mommy and daddy have been doing. She loves to
draw and that is how the idea came to be. I cant thank everyone
enough for their support!! I will keep everyone updated with more
details. God Bless everyone and their dogs and may Duncan be back on
his feet chasing frisbees one day soon.
