Miss Cider pulled off a standard Q and an advanced snooker Q this weekend. Very proud of her as the trial venue had 6 ft chain link.. but they had a rope as fencing on 2 sides of each ring. So dog gets distracted and can just wander out.. I was so freaked out about it Cider stress pooped our first run and we got eliminated.. but we turned it around and got a 3rd place in advanced jumpers.. and a Q and 1st place in advanced snooker (the game I've avoided so long cause it scared me).. and 1st place and a Q in starters standard.

1 more standard Q and Cider will be in advanced level everything.. close to a title again..

PICS!

I have a great start line stay. See!

Whoo across the finish line!

Did you know.. Cockers can fly?

Congrats on the Q's!!! Looks like you were at Royackers - very nice venue. My friend and her blonde cocker were there this past weekend as well.

We met with Indy and her mom, spent a while talking she was super nice. Our dogs really do look a lot a like. It is a beautiful location to trial.

Oh that's great!!! I'm glad you guys got to meet. She's always super pumped when she sees other people with cockers running. Don't see a lot around here. Indy's a very sweet dog (her and my JRT get along fabulously), and her mom is a wonderful person!
I've only been to Royackers once - but fell in love - gorgeous grounds...very beautiful, you're right. :)

There are few anywhere.. There's Cider, Indy, Jeremy (from barrie).. everyone else at the nationals was from other provinces.. and even then there were only 8-10 tops. Asking around about other cockers, our three are the only americans they know of, lol.

Kind of sad, as there are so many MACH ones stateside..

Indy's mom was so so nice. Wish she lived closer :) Indy Qd master snooker, and then we Qd advanced. We had a little party together, lol.

You ran the Canada cup at royackers didn't you? I almost messaged you to ask about the fencing there, but it was too late to mater much.. only scare me more. Wish everywhere to trial could be that pretty.. and.. REAL bathrooms! Whoooooo!

And to think just a few short months ago, you were not a happycamper when running agility.....amazing how finding the right trainer for you WORKS. I am happy for you, because I think last winter at my fun matches you where getting close to stopping etc.
Kudos

LOL. Heck.. back in May people told me I sounded angry when running.. I was so frazzled from stress in theory it was fun, doing it was scary.. I'm so so glad I finally branched out and went to other people for lessons. Now I want to bounce aroudn and see more people..
Thank you. Still haven't bumped into you at a trial yet eh, lol. Close but not close enough. We've come hardcore far really fast though. We only started training May 2006.. So I'm as proud as proud can be lately.

Well you guys did great!! And it is too bad there isn't more. I've met Jeremy a few times, and there is a guy who runs CPE with cockers but there english. They all seem to be very fast, responsive dogs, so I to am surprised that more people don't run them up here.
Yes, I ran Canada Cup (placed 4th in 10" - sorry, really proud of that one since we didn't make the nationals :) ). It was a wonderful venue, and at first I was a little concerned about the fence too. Brandy almost went under at one point. One tunnel was located very close to the fence line and she got distracted by someone walking by and was so very close to leaving the ring, but thank God I called her off. I do prefer the closed fences, but if you have good control, and a good recall it shouldn't really make much difference. Real bathrooms do make a difference though - LOL!!!!
Maybe we'll see you at an upcoming trial - good luck in the meantime!!!! :)

I've met about 6 english cockers in the AAC so far.. But it's not the same, lol *tear*.

I thought you had done well at the canada cup congrats again :)

Our jumpers run, the tunnel was right beside the fence, lot of people and dogs standing there. Cider went to run out I freaked and called her back, had a little party when she came, I was terrified she'd leave on me.. Good distraction training though.. If nothing else, it helps us work better.

Where do you usually trial at?

Thanks so much!!! :) I truly wasn't expecting anything when we ran the CC - but I was pleasantly surprised.
I think I've only seen two english, and two am. Indy and Jeremy. Such cuties, and your guys are too. Definatly not the same - the Am.s seem more laid back and lovable, but still fast on course.
Glad to hear you called her off ... that's an iffy spot because from the dogs point of view (especially the small ones) it looks as though it might still be part of the ring. My girlie is used to running with snow fence boarders, so I can see how there could be confusion especially with the tunnel being so close. Sounds like you've got a great recall too! Very key.
We normally trial with Action Agility out in Flamborough at McCanns facilities for AAC and CPE. This past weekend I was out in Caledon at Dog Sports Park for a CPE trial with Acton. Most of the time Flamborough is where we are though. Acton Agility holds a trial at least once a month, which is great, and the people there are very nice.
Are you planning on attending Regionals this year??? Where do you normally trial?
