If it starts getting exposure, and ends up being a situation that looks like it may bring about some change, you may even get a lawyer who feels strongly about the cause / is an animal lover also, who wants to get in on the action sans fees. Never know!
I'd take this pro bono if it was in my area and I could get permission from the firm . . . there are several other lawyers here who would as well. But the word out on the e-mail list, you might find a local attorney who can help.

But I repeat, at least have a back up plan to get Jazz out of there.

Fighting BSL is one thing and I would never say anything against that... quite the contrary.
I just don't think that this instance is a good...reason to fight BSL. Yes, she got misinformed by someone... but that is why you can't rely on other people to give you such information.... you look into it yourself.
If you can't trust a By-law officer to know the by-laws then who can you trust? That is their job.

Yeah, one would think. Unfortunately, prove you talked to them. And, in a lot of places, even if a member of an agency or a police officer tells you something you can't rely on it in court. Pretty much no such thing as governmental estoppel.

Exactly. I have been given so much wrong information in my life- especially from government employees- I would not rely on that info.
