Small Places, Large Issues by T.H. Eriksen. It's a must have anthropological book..... you can't stop reading it!
I also love anything from E. Hemingway.....
Just bought it Friday... "Animals in Translation". What did you think of it Jess? Also bought, "You: The Owners Manual". Hope to read both before Christmas, but it takes me awhile!
I am now reading The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down by Anne Fadiman.
I'm just a few chapters in and I'm already gobsmacked. The clash of the Hmong and American cultures and the young girls life at stake... it's a must read for those who are really interested in cultures.
I'm looking to read Animals In Translation next and then start the Harry Potter series.
Just finished 'Son of Shadows' by Juliet Marillier. It's the second book in the Sevenwaters trilogy and I'm looking forward to reading the third, but I think I need a break from it for a while.
Not sure what I'll read next. I have soooo many books here I want to read. I wish I read faster. LOL
Oh, Cass . . . I've read Son of the Shadows several times - it's a favorite of mine . . . you've reminded me to look for the other two books the next time I'm in the used bookstore
Right now I'm reading The Other End of the Leash by Patricia McConnell.
I've been wanting to read it for a long time and I finally bought it. It's very interesting, I'm enjoying it so far.
I'm in the process of reading Born To Win by Patricia Craige and I just placed an order for a bunch of books on Amazon so I'll be busy. Also reading The Other End of the Leash for the 4th or so time.
............................Right now I'm actually reading To Kill a Mockingbird...for the millionth time...for school. I skip a lot of chapters though because I already know what happens lol, so does that count?
That is always on stand by in case I don't have a new book at the time
Right now I have had Stephen King's Cell started for about 2 months now............I read the first chapter, put it down and forget about it for a couple weeks, then start over. At this rate I will never read it.
Normally I read myself to sleep at night but lately I am already sleepy enough by bedtime.
The last books that I loved was the Left Behind Series. Great books!
The very last book I think I read was...The Blind Mirror by Christopher Pike. It's an adult novel and now that I look again he's got a newer series out called Alosha.
