Oh, I just finished reading a great series! It's the Temeraire series by Naomi Novik.

It's about the Napoleonic wars, but with a fantasy twist. The author writes about the wars as they would have been if both sides had "air corps" of dragons, as well as the traditional ships and armies. It follows the adventures of Captain Matt Lawrence and his dragon, Temeraire.

It sounds weird, but it is a fantastic idea that's a great read. Hubby is immersed in them right now, and normally hates fantasy novels. And to make it even better, director Peter Jackson has bought the rights to the books! Jackson said he could just imagine an epic movie with fleets of frigates and fighting dragons.

Definately a thumbs-up from me.

;)

Now... let us see. I am a big fan of Kristen Britain's Green Rider series. Farenheit 451 (That IS the title, yes?) is a classic.. always worth reading. Wicked.. is.. just stunning. If a book can be stunning, Wicked has run away with the definition of stunning. Jodi Picoult's books.. 'nuff said. She is one of those authors who just.. knows. I recommend My Sister's Keeper and The Tenth Circle, out of the ones I have read.

If you're a cat-person, I recommend Shirley Rosseu Murphy's books--especially The Catswold Portal. I am forever indebted to Cat, the woman who told me about this book.

Childrens books.. The Giving Tree (always makes me sob) and If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. Well worth reading if you have not already, two books I believe very few homes should be without...

The things I ought to read are The Plague, The Jungle, and The Time Traveler's Wife. All highly recommended, and The Jungle so far has been great.

Now, someone better click on all those links. :p
There ya go, girlie.

Oh, and I second Gemp's suggestion of the Temeraire series.. fantastic.

Right now I'm reading Red Dragon by Thomas Harris. I started it a long time ago and then forgot about it, so I started over. It's a bit morbid in some parts, but I love the suspense. It's the third that follows The Silence of The Lambs in the series.

Seriously??! That booked bored me to death. Normally i can't stand not finishing a book, even if i don't like it, but it was taking me so long to get through i just stopped with about a quarter of it left.

I wanna get Khaled Hosseini's other book too! Unfortunately i've got a lot of books on my list, and not a lot of time :(

So I've finished My Sister's Keeper, I also read The Pact. Then after that I read some of Nora Robert's works :p and now I'm reading For Love of the Dog and Turn of the Century (I forget the name of the author and I'm too lazy to get up and check). When we go on vacation, I am going to read, Eat, Pray, Love. Loooooove to read! :)
