lol it shouldn't be funny, i just got this image of these two bruiser chi's tattooed and smoking a roll your own terrorizing the neighborhood. HEHehe your dogs could eat them with one chomp. Sad thing is that is what will probably happen eventually, that or be hit by a car. I saw a baby bird in the road the other day, fledgling. I stopped the car to escort it to the other side and before i could get there a suv ran it down like a paper cup. They never looked down. Those chi's are no more visible then that.

I feel so bad for Voodoo right now. Instead of frolicking in the yard while I'm at work, he has to stay in his crate. I let him out of the crate for awhile when I went home for lunch, but he had to go back in for the afternoon. My poor little puppy wasn't very happy about it, and I heard him whimpering after me as I left the house.

I hate cooping him up like this, but I don't have a choice. I'm afraid those horrible little dogs will come back and harrass Voodoo into going over the fence. Voodoo could easily kill both of those tiny monsters if that happens, and I don't want my puppy labeled "aggressive", or even worse, euthanized. After all, since he's the large dog, it will automatically be his fault.

Tonight, we're going to see about putting a hot wire along the top of our fence. Either that, or we'll have to put up lattice or something along the decorative arch that Voodoo keeps trying to climb over. That should keep my boy in.

This whole situation is absolutely horrible. I have to admit, I have a whole new hatred towards irresponsible dog owners because of this.

This is becoming a crock of sh*t... you now have to crate your dog because of some ignorant neighboor.

I would look up a chi rescue or any small breed rescue.... trap the chi's... place them in your crate... take them to the rescue... drop them off in front of their house... ring the doorbell ... and leave... :)

I understand your frustration. And I agree that something needs to be done. But, as the owner of a chihuahua and a chi mix (as well as a golden retreiver), I've got to say that I'm a little annoyed at some of the comments. It's really not the dogs fault that they have an irresponsible owner that doesn't either keep them contained or trained them properly. Calling they F***ing chihuahua's just really doesn't sit well with me. JMO I hope Animal Control can get the situation squared away for you.

Since it's Zeus' birthday today, why don't you treat him to your neighbor's ill-tempered little dogs . . . smothered in marinara :D

And get that hot wire . . . and wrap it around your neighbor

Side note: I've run across some absolutely beautifully mannered and sweet tempered Chihuahuas in my lifetime. I'll never forget one afternoon when I was taking care of a friend's two year old daughter and I took her to the park. We met a woman there who had three of her Chis and they were lovely. My friend's little girl had a marvelous time with them - but they were well bred and well mannered and so was she! There's no reason - other than BYBs and reprehensible owners - that Chihuahuas aren't as wonderful as any other dog!

I apologize Keana, I have nothing against small breeds. But I am just so fed up with this whole situation. If they were golden retrievers, I would call them f***ing golden retrievers.

These dogs have been harrassing my dogs, and the other dogs in the neighborhood, on almost a daily basis. They have attacked my Zeus twice. My next-door neighbor has complained that the chis have charged at her and snarled when she goes checks her mail. My poor Voodoo (who has done nothing wrong) has to spend the day crated because of these dogs. And to top it off, Voodoo has become dog-aggressive towards other male dogs. I was thinking about it last night, and suddenly realized that Voodoo didn't show any dog aggression until the chihuahuas started coming around. It could be a coincidence...but I wonder. But regardless how the aggression started, these chihuahuas are making it worse.

I am just so upset and angry at the whole situation. While I know it's the fault of the owners, I can't help but get a little peeved at the dogs, too.

Just keep harrassing animal control, Gempress. Follow up and go get a copy of the report, just to make sure there IS a report filed. Take some videos and make copies for AC. Nag, nag, nag . . . At least that way if something happens it's on record that your dogs aren't the aggressors.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I've just been reading this thread quietly after my initial post and some of the comments really made me a bit angry. I don't think some of these comments would've been made if it were a larger breed that was harrassing Gempress' dogs, but things like letting them eat the Chis and such.. let's just say I'm not very pleased.

FYI, I own one and she is the most well-mannered Chihuahua I have personally met. She can walk right past a small or big dog barking like mad at her from their own lawn or backyard and she will zip right past them, not even giving them a second glance. They can run right up to her face and bark and all she'll simply do is walk away.

Poorly behaved Chis comes from irresponsible owners. Like with all cases, please blame the owner, not the dog. And yes, I agree - something has to be done with these 2 harrassing the neighborhood every morning and it's not right that Gempress has to crate up her dog just because someone else didn't take the time and effort to train their pets properly, but refrain from making breed specific remarks because there ARE Chi owners on here.

No one here has anything against small dogs. Yes i made a comment that voodoo should eat them, it was a play on the size difference not the breed. Sheeesh.

We are NOT blaming the dog!

They ARE Chi's which is why we call them F****** Chi's. If someone was complaining that there was a beagle howling keeping them up why would I care if they called it a F****** Beagle? Thats what they are.

Kathy, I think most of the comments were DOG specific, not breed specific. Every once in awhile (thanks in large part to BYBs) you run into dogs that are just incorrigible. Happily, it's not very often, but it does happen.

There used to be a pair of Pekes who would run across the street to bark at and try to bite my Bear when I'd walk him in the evenings (their mouths wouldn't reach around his ankles, lol!). I'd see the owners wait and open the door to let them out when they saw us! There were times I literally couldn't walk without shoving them out of the way with my feet. You don't know how many times I just wished my big (110 lb GSD/Akita) Bear would just reach down and put his mouth over their heads and scare them half to death, and I have to admit I wasn't all that sorry when they ran out to chase someone and got hit by a car. There are also quite a few older people in our neighborhood who go out and walk in the evenings, and kids on bicycles, and they'd turn those two out on EVERYONE . . . I'd say that whoever hit them was probably someone they'd tried to bite at one time or another.

Oh Gempress, would animal control do anything if you called them up (while the dogs are outside your fence, barking) and told them there are 2 strays outside your house and they're making a lot of noise? The one here would send someone over to try to catch them, but sometimes needs a little push on my end or else they tell me to catch the dog myself.

It's these comments that Kathy29 and I are referring to. I understand there are a lot of people that prefer larger dogs. And, I'm also aware of the opinion of many large dog owners regarding smaller breeds. But, really, was this comment necessary? I'm new to this forum and was under the impression that it was an ALL breed forum. Maybe I'm mistaken and should have registered on another forum with people that had more respect. A dog lover is a dog lover. I realize that everyone has their favorite breeds, but if you can't have compassion for all animals/breeds I'm afraid I would have to question someone's sincerity regarding their kindness to animals after reading some of these comments.

Now you did it Renee..i got tuff pekes in my head, roaring down the road on tiny little motorcycles.hair streaming behind them...tossing their bottles along the way. IT wouldn't matter what breed it is, loose and out of control is unacceptable. I would time my calls with animal control, let them know what hour it is these dogs are out, and do your best to get animal control to show up at that time. Here it takes at least 24 hours before they can approach a call. Get a petition of the neighbors and send it to AC as well, shoot, get a digi camera out and record it. Poor Voodoo doesn't need the punishment for the owner's stupidity.

I love little dogs, i love big dogs, so don't try to read anything into what i wrote other then an over active imagination.

How long did you have to put up with that? I probably would've went berzerk on the owners, especially if I saw them do it on purpose. Perhaps it was entertainment to them to watch you and Bear put up with two small doggies. That disgusts me.

Kathy, that probably went on for four or five months . . . It did teach me that the next time I have a problem like that with a small dog, I'm going to let it bite me, then report it . . . THEN let the owners deal with the hassles ;)

Poor Bear was just too kind for his own good sometimes . . .

It was all in fun... no offense intended! Both dogs I own are small breeds.... 4lb Poodle Mix and a Bichon. I meant it jokingly... I just couldn't resist making the comment.:D

It's a JOKE. People need to take things less serious.

There are steryotypes for all breeds and we all know they arent true wich is why we can joke about it.

Good grief!!!

I realize that everyone has their favorite breeds, but if you can't have compassion for all animals/breeds I'm afraid I would have to question someone's sincerity regarding their kindness to animals after reading some of these comments.
But of course since we're joking about it, it means we dont show any kindness towards animals.
