I just watched a few episodes, its very interesting

the more I watch it..the more im like yaaaa... the movie really didn't do much for the series. I feel like the tv show is a lot more light hearted and I dunno.. there was just something not there in the film.

It costed 280 million to make the film!! WOW!

Just because something is popular, doesn't mean it's well liked.
A lot of people like to just jump onto the bandwagon.

They white-washed the characters? WTF? Saka and Katara are very
obviously Inuit. I could never tell what race Aang was, though, but still, that's
so disgusting. It's been a while since I've seen any previews so I actually don't
remember what Katara and Saka looked like.
I read all the bad guys were played by non-whites. Is that true for the people
who saw it ?

Beanie, I agree Sokka is the best. :D

I honestly did not notice the color of skin of any of the actors.

Yes, but that's canon. They have people of all races in the show, and they stuck to that in the movie except for the three main characters and Katara's grandmother, which is totally screwed up. Katara and Saka are very caucasian and they are definitely Inuit in the series. Add that to the fact that all the background actors of the water tribes (where Saka and Katara come from) are clearly of Inuit descent and it's looking just a bit screwed up.

After watching the movie, I've got to say. . . I wont see it again. It wasn't a terrible movie, it just wasn't very enjoyable and it didn't have that addictive, fun level of humor that the show has, which is what made me keep watching Avatar. Everything was very serious and dramatic, which isn't what Avatar is about.

I thought this was funny so I had to share... two nights ago I was watching through the last few episodes of season 3. There's an episode called "The Ember Island Players" where the gang all watches a stage production of the Avatar story, and when they leave the production they're all going "man, that was a terrible play." "Awful." "Horrible." And then Sokka goes "Eh, but the effects were decent."
And I thought "Gosh, it's like they were foretelling the reactions to the live-action movie!"

So tonight after watching the finale episodes, I'm going back and watching the special feature commentaries, and just watched the commentary for that episode... and right at that moment, either Mike or Brian (the co-creators of the series) makes the comment "I feel like the writers threw this in as a reference to the M. Night movie that's coming up. NOT that we don't think it's going to be awesome. But. Yeah."

*headdesk*

I'm dying to know what they DO think of it now that it's done, though I doubt they'd actually diss it in public.
