The Good News thread

My boss is amazing and got people to work for me this Saturday (I've got a family reunion).

Now if only I could find somebody to watch Roxie Cuz it's HOURS away, will be all day, and with her SA idk how that's gonna be. I'm gonna try and ask one of my neighbors or one of my sister's friends to see if they can stop by a few times (because they know Roxie, and I honestly don't know how she would be if she thought someone was "breaking in", even if they had the intention of taking care of her...).

Really hope I'm going to actually be able to go!!

One of my local shelters, the kill one, is having Fantastic Feline Fridays and all adult cats are free to good homes.

Woke up with a bad migraine this morning, so bad I was throwing up and I had to call in to work. I took some medicine and went back to sleep and woke up feeling soooo much better! And I work a split shift so I am going to go in for my 2nd shift. Just grateful to be feeling better plus I only have to work 4 hrs today and tomorrow's Friday! <3

Can you take her with and crate her in the car? This is my go-to usually when I'm going to be gone all day.

I am driving to Calgary this evening after work and then tomorrow 4 girlfriends and I are driving to Kelowna for a stagette weekend for my bestie. I am so excited to have a girls weekend. We will be going wine tasting, basking in the sun on the beach, and then late at night going out dancing. I have not done that in ages.

Michael's birthday is tomorrow. I've wrapped his gifts and printed off a very fitting eecard. I'm probably more excited about his birthday than he is. LOL He wasn't around last year to celebrate, so I'm happy to finally be able to throw him a "celebration" for the two of us.

We both work tomorrow so I'm not sure if I'll be able to make his brithday dinner until Saturday (and I haven't decided if I should give him his gifts tomorrow evening or the day after with his birthday dinner)...but we will hopefully both have good days at work so we can begin the celebrations (re: drinking and gaming hahaha) when he gets home and just continue them over into Saturday!

My small leave of absence, which was previously disputed and denied when my pregnancy ended, has been written off and cleared by my manager at work. Nothing will be held against me and my job will not be threatened, as I'd been fearing for the past couple of weeks.

Huge, huge weight off of my shoulders. I'm happy today.

I totally know what it's like moving and leaving people. I've moved 5 times when I was younger, due to my Dad's work.Thankfully, I haven't moved in almost 10 years.

Today was a really good day. Went for a run with Art, first run with him in weeks and first run with just him and me in forever, so I was nervous about his reactivity. We went somewhat early so it would be cooler and only did 1.5 miles. He did so great! He remembers "passing" for people and we met a really nice lady and her large black/tan mix. At first I saw them coming I was nervous about Art reacting and the dog was on a flexi going all over the place. We alternated between going towards them, then away, then sit and LAT, then repeat. He did good so I pulled him to the side and had him sit and wait as they passed. She stopped, a good distance away with her dog calmly by her side and in a locked position on her flexi and asked what we were training. I told her dog reactivity issues and she genuinly seemed suprised and said Art was super well trained and she would've never guessed he had issues with reactivity. LOL So that kind of made the run. ^_^

Then Talon locked himself in the bathroom and destroyed it, including my last roll of toilet paper. -_- my fault though, so I took him to the park were he did a good job with disc and got some pets by an older couple. He even sat super politely for them without me asking and didn't attempt to jump up at all.

Then my free samples from honest kitchen came AND I did a tiny bit of couponing and got a bunch of shopping done for only $20! ^_^ I feel so good right now. Also, I got the address to mail letters to david and mailed my first letter to him, I can't wait to get a reply!!!

I'm not the type who takes pictures of their food, but I made a ****ing fantastic dinner tonight and no one is here to see it.
Grilled beets, zucchini, brussel sprouts, and sweet potatoes, with a perfectly medium rare steak. I also made peach raspberry galettes for dessert. Yay grown up dinner!

Michael is actually happy it is his birthday. He never cared before. This means I did my job right. I'm happy.
