I, too, euthanized a foster for unpredictable aggression issues. You did the right thing to protect him and everyone around him. He is now healed of whatever his suffering was, just like my Neon.

Ahh a training facility is offering two classes I really want to take but I can only afford one. One is a control unleashed class, which focuses on confidence building and focus, and would be so so awesome for Wilson to take since he still gets scared in busy places. The other one is a recallers class which I could take with both Sam and Wilson because they both could use work. They both start this week so I need to decide soon!

When people say that certain breeds of dog can't be domesticated.

BUT THEY'VE BEEN DOMESTICATED FOR FOREVER NOW. Do you even English?

Take one, ask if you can audit the other for a nominal fee?

My Hurtta jackets that I ordered on Black Friday finally shipped today! I thought for sure these weren't going to arrive until summer at this rate lol. We could really use them NOW because it is arctic here, but I'm sure we still have some cold days coming up :p

Juno went on a field trip to Petco today and the employees must have been really bored because I had like 4 of them gather around us to pet her and talk to me. I've NEVER had that happen at a big chain store lol usually they hardly acknowledge that you're there. Juno loved it and kept going back and forth between them all with full body wiggles, performing tricks for treats, making out with anyone who got close enough to her face... made me very happy because even though she's been pretty normal like this for a long time now, I just always think back to the anxious mess she used to be, the one who panicked being inside a pet store and would have went into flight mode if she would have seen 4 strangers standing there. Instead, now her nub starts wagging and she runs up to them.

(This is literally just for raving/excitement reasons. Read on if you are very bored.)

Currently touched by how good Rara is. D: She's always been a purely praise-motivated dog, but I didn't know to what extent until just yesterday and today. She's been having stomach problems/diarrhea again, so she needs to eat these gross little tablets + pieces of pepto bismol tablets. Yesterday, I wrapped the tablet in a piece of bread (she loves bread more than life itself) and gave it to her. She kinda chewed, swallowed the bread, and spit out the tablet... in which I immediately went, "Oh nooo! Rara!"

Upon hearing me upset, she immediately looked panicked, bent down, picked up the tablet, quickly chewed it up (with this really disgusted chewing way that dogs do when something tastes gross) and quite apparently forcibly swallowed it. And promptly looked up at me like, "I did it! Don't be upset!"

Today, she did it again with both the pepto bismol tab and the other tablet. Except I was just testing today, so didn't give her bread at all.. (I'm actually evil)
I just put the tablets on the ground in front of her, pointed at them, and said, "Eat it." (I'm really really evil) She just kinda looked at them and looked up at me, so I faked disappointment with the whole, "Raraaa... eat itttt....! Come on Rara.." ... upon seeing me unhappy, she quickly picked up both tablets AGAIN, vigorously chewed them up ASAP, and force swallowed them.

The end of the story. ;o; That is all.
Publicly raves about how good Rara is. (Lancer would never do such a thing, I don't think. He did not hear me say that.)

Projack

Jack started on Prozac the beginning of last year. We got him in late September and he was still a mess--shaking violently at the thought of us leaving the house and just random spurts of aggression (especially when food was involved). Things escalated when Pox came home and Jack was attacking Crossbone (for walking by him, for wagging his tail, etc) and it was happening multiple times a day.

Then we weaned him off of Prozac and he is a different dog. He's not shaking anymore, he hasn't attacked anyone in 10 days, lets Pox & Crossbone play without freaking out and interrupting and he's much more relaxed. Before he would bark and shake for a long time when we came home from work and now he barks happily once or twice, says hi and goes and lays down.

Seems strange....but I'm enjoying the new Jack for now!

Noooo. Not right this second. The thing is, with the breeder's having puppies available when I was looking, while I did find one I liked well enough, which with MAS breeders, I've found it's hard, for me at least, to be able to agree with them in EVERYTHING they do / believe, I did decide to back out on getting another MAS at this time. Because I kept going back and forth with, "yes, they do health tests and (while this for me has honestly never been a huge "must do") show their dogs, and do give their dogs a good life, I'd say, I just can't be sure I agree with 'x x & x'", you know? I am very happy with the decision to adopt Oli, though, and do feel very certain with that choice, haha. :D Right now I'm just happy to get Chomper a younger playmate and hopefully, buddy, and what I plan to do with Mini Aussies is for now, just keeping on being a work in progress. :)

UGH ... I had a rather ... interesting start to the morning this morning, I woke up to Lincoln having a blow out in his crate at 5 am -_-. so I get him out (remarkably he managed to avoid getting anything on him so I thankfully didnt have to bathe him too) so I take the crate outside to clean it and discover that he also had puked in there, too. So there I am at 5 am cleaning puke and diarrhea out of a crate, I had to throw one of his chews away, too :( poor guy.

He seems ok, I offered him a small handful of kibble this morning after we had breakfast and he ate it right up no problem and seems alert and coherent, he just seems a little like he kind of feels "blah" ... I will keep an eye on him, maybe he if fixing to start teething, I have been told that they can get diarrhea during that time (though I have never experienced it).

My poor little guy :(

Seriously. Every time it snows, poop in the house. I just got done saying I trust Truman not to poop 100% and then we get snow. Blah. And it's so cold just walking him outside for an hour is not really an option.

Never getting a puppy I have to housebreak in winter again

I think some dogs just train themselves. Sharpeis come out housebroken. Dobermans? Ha ha ha. Some days I ask myself why. I think he laughs at me. But seriously he would never poop inside until now. He touches the snow on the deck and is like NOPE!! Someone is trying to kill me!! Inside!!

I am out more like ever half hour still! Accidents are rare unless he is worked up about something.
