Went to go get food and booze. Decided to leave the boys out all by themselves. While sitting there waiting for my food I was like OH GOD THEY ARE GOING TO HAVE KILLED EACH OTHER.

Came home - not only did they not kill each other, they didn't destroy ANYTHING.
WHAT.

Amazing.

One of the rescues called all my references (they asked for 3). Then my friends and colleagues called and/or texted me to be like "OMG the rescue called!" My one friend briefly considered sabotaging me and telling the rescue I'm a terrible owner, because he doesn't like the way the hound girl looks and wants me to adopt a Husky mix at a different rescue  Thankfully he restrained himself.

Astro is tired of being asked which option he wants me to take, I asked him again tonight and he laid down facing away from me. Wrinkly dog speak for "I don't care, just make a decision soon woman!"

This morning at around 4am Rigby woke me up by standing next to the bed and whining.
Usually she only does this when she NEEDS to go outside, so I jump out of bed and try to leash her up.

Nope. Didn't want to go outside. She just wanted me to sit on the couch and cuddle her a bit.
Can dogs have nightmares? It's the only thing I can think of...weird dog.

And my cats sang to me in the hall about that time. Got up because thought it was the baby at first. Then I got in the hall and realized how creepy it sounded and they were just staring at me!

The dog I wanted to adopt got adopted. :( He was perfect. Some sort of small smooth coated merle border collie mix.

I has a sad. :( Will keep looking. It's probably best to wait till September to adopt anyways.

I remember reading something about how a cats meow is totally unnatural. In the early stages of domestication they pretty well studied the humans and discovered the sound that solicits a response from almost every human - the sound of a crying baby.

:( That sucks.

There's a dog out there that needs you more :)

Histamine woke up at 4:30 today and started meowing and crying, even though we were still in bed and hadn't made any noise. o_O

I know there will be but I'm just bummed. :( They seem to get in BC, aussie, or ACDs and/or mixes a lot. I'll find something. There's also a couple litters I'm keeping an eye on too. This guy just really stood out to me.

I'd love to get an older pup too, about 6 months, which was his age. I love puppies but with work an older pup would be easier.

If you were a time zone ahead of me, I would be really worried. Gusto woke me up for snuggles at 5 am.

This is freaky because this morning at like, 4:49 and 5:00 I woke up to Tobi/Atlas kneading and pinching my arm over the side of my bed, and he'd run away and then start again.

Oh god. Petsmart on Saturdays. Adoptions plus puppy classes. It was a madhouse but we were showing the house and its way too hot for the park.

On the other hand I realize my dogs are incredibly well behaved compared to most.

My heart.

I was so set for options. But today I met a Golden Retriever-Shar Pei mix at an adoption event (boss was there, and a friend wanted to go). Put in an app, raced home, grabbed Astro, brought him back to meet the dog - that's how intense I feel about this dog!

They were so in love. Played together so perfectly. The dog is good with kids, did great at the incredibly crowded event with strangers reaching out and grabbing him, gave everybody kisses. 10 months old, so past the crazy peeing-everywhere stage (though of course I'd have to potentially refresh his house and crate training).

I so hope they call me.

So I ordered something for my dog from this site, after much tribulation completing the order and they make their stuff to order so it could be 3-5 business days to ship out ... phooey! I am thankful I think it went through, but the waiting is hard!

Ooooh, best of luck! He sounds like a perfect fit. Fingers crossed!
