I to got my tatoo for a reason.....my mom had just died and while she was in the process of dying from lung cancer/brain tumor, the room she was staying in had a really colorful dragonfly cling sticker on the window...she would look at it all of the time and comment on how pretty it was. About a month after my mom died, my husband and I took all of our kids to the beach for several days. My daughter and I decided to get a dragonfly tatoo in memory of my mom and her grandma. We have the exact same tatoo....mine is on my ankle hers in on her lower back. Everytime I look at my tatoo it reminds me of my mom and just feels really good. So...that is why I made that statement that my tatoo isn't tacky. I'm very sorry if I offended anyone or seemed arguementative. That wasn't my intention at all. :)

:hail: :hail: I love that film!! It's an absolute classic..... I'd watched it the day before you posted "Buddy Christ" so it was fresh in my memory! I always finds it brings up a few interesting questions too!

irregardless if someone ELSE thinks my tattoos are tasteful or discrete, they are mine and no one elses.

both of my brothers as well as both of my parents have tattoos, as do i - some are easily hidden others are NOT - my father is a 50 year old professional, a business manager for a very large thriving architecture firm, and he has a visible tattoo on his arm for all the world to see. one of mine is easily seen. both of my brothers have easily visible tattoos.

if i want something on my body, it will go where i want it, for whomever i want to see (or not see) it. i dont get them FOR anyone else, and quite frankly, thankfully no one else has to approve. yes, they are for life - think carefully. but i dont regret a single thing ive done to my body.

Hey ...it's a personal thing !! Whatever turns you on ! We don't have to like them , do we ? I'd rather see a necklace than a tattoo around someone's neck .... same with a bracelet ... when I want some art that means something to me , it's for me and I'd rather have it on my walls .... I don't need to share it with everyone .

hey Denaluvscorgis, I was wondering any chance I could see a pic of your dragon flies? I am also going to get a dragonfly, in memory of my dad who died of colon cancer this last june, he wasplanning to get a dragonfly when he beat cancer because they had survived everything as well, so my whole family is getting dragonflies for him now... I am looking for any ideas... im thinking middle of my back or shoulder blade for mine... and I personally believe a tattoo needs to have a meaning otherwise I am with Grammy and the others, I would prefer jewelry lol
