I think people should wait till thier 30's. Theoreticly you are more mature. Personaly I would regret it if, say at 18, I got a naked person on my arm. Because I was young and dumb.

It all depends on the person/Tat

Little late but here are mine. I have a tattoo of Shelby, my childhood dog on my upper thigh. Excuse my lack of pants. You can't see it with them on. I've had many piercings but the only one that has stayed with me is my septum. Here they are:

If the photo is showing too much leg feel free to remove it. It's the only one I have.

and my big scary bull ring.

here's mine that I just recently got. It was kind of a spur of the moment thing. My sis has wanted her nose pierced for EVER, and she was basically too scared to go alone. So lucky me got a piercing too. I absolutely love it now though!!!

hehe, its your tragus.

Mine is a conch piercing. And the actual piercing wasn;t painful, but the healing was horrible at first. I couldn't so much as have the wind blow on it without it killing for ~1.5 wks. Cleaning it SUCKED.

It was worth it though...its totally fine now & compared to what I was reading online, the healing time was pretty fast. I still have to clean out the crusties daily, but I just grab it with my fingers & pick them out, LOL. I should prob use soap a lil more often. I play with it too...sliding it back & forth...my piercing is really long in the back (which my piercer insisted on for cleaning purposes at first)...I should prob change it to a shorter one, but I haven;t gotten around to it.

I'm glad this thread got revived. :D

First though - Smexy you should absolutely wait til you're 18. I went two weeks after my 18th birthday to get my first one because even though my parents and I get along great it absolutely would not have been worth the fallout.

Anywho, I have two tattoos, one on my lower back that's basically a celtic design (I don't have any pics) and one on my right shoulder blade that's a trilesk/trinity. I want another one but I haven't decided what yet.

I've had my ears pierced three times (all in the same hole) because I'm allergic to nickel and didn't know it and I was too young/stupid/impatient to take care of them right until the third time. I had them gauged up for awhile but I had to quit when I hit 0 and I heard a bunch of cracking noises (from all the scar tissue). On the plus side, once they shrunk down they never closed up again. :D I used to have my tongue, lip and eyebrow pierced. I really miss my eyebrow but unfortunately I had to get a "real" job and they don't allow facial piercings. *pouts* But I'm thinking of getting my tragus done or possibly the one Dreeza has!

I'm glad this got revived too. I'm going sometime within the first week or so of February to get a back peice done/started. Its just black and white, or really black and shading, but its going to be fairly large. I've got one on my ribcage as well. I got it right after I turned 18 and my mom didn't find out for two years! Lol! But its on a fairly EASY place to hide, and once I was like 12, she didn't see me naked anyway :p

I can't wait for my back piece. I AM going to miss soaking in the tub for a month though, lol. I'll post pictures when I get it done and of the healing process, since it is a full back piece. Its a chinese dragon actually, but not at the same time. More of a blend between asian and european dragons, and I love it.

Anyway, I highly recommend waiting until you are 18. I gave myself tattoos when I was sixteen, and while I don't have one of them, I DO hate the rest and though they're small and no one but me really notices them, I plan on having them covered up. Its just not worth it because a BUNCH of things I planned on getting when I was sixteen id set aside and forgotten about. Now, years later, I'm looking at them going WTF was I thinking???!!! And I know you think that won't happen, etc, but more than likely it will. I don't regret the one I got when I was 18 because its a commemoration of turning eighteen and freedom and changning my life (by joining the army, lol) and I still love it. I do wish it waa a little bit better drawn (I drew it, and I suck) but all in all I love it, its a sexy tattoo to me, even though its nothing sexy at all really, ha.

I'm planning several others, from a pirate ship on my calf to a alligator on my thigh to a portrait of Charlie on my other thigh. I really don't like being unbalanced either, so who knows what elese, lol. I want a forearm sleeve as well, or is that considered a cuff? Not sure.

Anyway, sorry I'm rambling again. Just wait. You'll still want tattoos in two years, I promise. They're very addictive.

I grammy but that is 'massive tattoo' (hate Dr Phil anyway.. he gives some pretty scary advice at times!). I know MANY people who have small ones, meaningful ones they got early to mid twenties. Not regrettable.

There was one I have been wanting to get since I was twenty.. If I had gotten it its not like I would have regretted it. I think as long as you are mature (forget chronological age) and of age its ok. (and you are not drunk lol)

There's one I want and I know I will want it when I'm 30 (probably wont get it done till near then anyways). It's meaningful and I know that will never change.

I just got a quote of 6oo for mine, and roughly five hours of work. Probably going in next week to get it done. COMPLETELY excited.

I do have some tattoo's I want. I have nothing so far but I have some ideas. I want a little bone behind one ear and a little fish skeleton behind the other for Buster and Panda. I was going to do paw prints but wanted something more original.

I've also wanted a half sleeve for years, I'm starting to work out general ideas of what I want but am still a way off working out exactly how I want it to look. I turn 20 in March and I think I might wait till atleast my 21st birthday. I could wait till I'm 30 but it really appeals to me to have it done in my 20's.

Piercings. I had my vertical labret but had to removed it when it started growing out. I would love to get it redone but I think it will probably happen again, as much as I loved it, it did always get in the way. Maybe one day.

Next I want an anti eyebrow and then an industrial bar in my ear and I want my conch punched on the other side, possible at 2 or 0g, also hanging out to get my tongue webbing done, people think I'm weird for that. Plus a huge long list of piercings.

Atm other than my ears (both now stretched to 6g) I only have my tongue done. I'd been keen on the idea for a while but wanted 2 bars put in instead of one. The first one didn't hurt so much, the second one, done 3 weeks later, absolutley caned. I couldn't eat anything for 3 days afterwards and didn't get more than a few sips of water down the first day it just hurt too much. I also had a terrible lisp for the first 2 weeks.
But almost 3 months on, totally worth it. I love them so much, they're a bit different and my mouth feels naked without them.

It does have its annoying points, I don't think I'll be able to keep them forever but for now I love them. You can hear them clinking when I talk and I've been trying to learn to carry my tongue differently in my mouth the last few days because the bottom ball of the front bar is rubbing against the back of my gums on my front bottom teeth and I really don't want receded gums. I also play with it too much so I'm trying to get out of that habit before I ruin my teeth.

Every time someone mentions a tongue piercing I think of a boyfriend my big sister brought home years ago. He had bright blue hair, earings, and a tounge piercing, and he was CONSTANTLY playing with it, it was so annoying because it was distracting, lol.

I would LOVE to get a tattoo on the back of my neck. I just don't know what yet. The tattoo that I am getting (I got a quote for it yesterday for about 70€ - its small and basically just oulines) wouldn't look good there. I think I actually posted the design a while back? Im getting that one on my hip. =)
I just saw, that the place I want to get my tattoo done, also does nose piercings for 25€ hmm... Do I want to get two painfuls done in one day? idk... lol
