I voted for VA, since it's like 2 1/2 hours from me (Not knowing if I could realistically go anyway..:p)
I think there should be a big meetup in each of those places and then we all connect via videochat. Hahahah that's probably not realistic either. lol
That would be really cool! Especially for those that can't make it!

Is there anyone in the VA area that could see if there are some good locations for an event like this? I've been to VA several times, but I'm not familiar with the area.

Probably not. ;) But another forum I'm on does a big meetup every year in different parts of the country, so those who might not make it one year might be able to the next.

Where are like 4786398746 chazzers who live in VA?

I voted for VA. And if we do it in the summer, I might have a dog to bring by then ;)

Just wondering... How many of you are only voting for VA because you live there? Because it seems a bit unfair to pick the place you live rather than the place that would be reasonable for the rest of the Chazzers. If it's because you simply CANNOT make it to a meetup elsewhere, okay. But to pick it just because you wouldn't have to drive at all... I realize we have a lot of people on the forum that live in VA, but that is great for a VA meetup, not a ginormous Chaz meetup.

It doesn't matter to me either way. A trip to VA would only be a few hours longer than a trip to KC. But I picked KC because that seemed like a more central location. Yeah, it'd be great for me if it were in South Texas so I wouldn't have to drive 20-25 hours, but that wouldn't be so great for everyone else.

This is what a lot of my SAR organizations do, and I think it's a great idea.

Virginia is 5 hours away from me.

Kansas City is a 20 hours drive away from me. I don't even know how far Denver is.

We have a lot of Chazzers in the North East and on the East Coast....no not EVERY chazzer will be able to make it to any of the meetups, but I think more of us could get to VA than the other cities...and btw, we can have more than just one giant meetup :p

No, I understand that. I just think that we should keep everyone else in mind and find something reasonable for as many people as we can. For instance...Say VA is a five hour drive for "you" and KC is a ten hour drive. But for other people KC is a ten hour drive and VA is a twenty hour drive. Which is the more reasonable place to have it?

And forgive me if it sounded snarky because that wasn't my intention. I'm just wondering if people considered that before going "Oh, yay! That's right by me! *CLICK*" :p

Well, I chose VA because that's the only one I could feasibly attend. Unless things change up a bit, and then I could probably get away with going to KC for a week or so. But I can drive 9 hours in a day. 13 to 14 would really be how long it would take me to get there providing for stops for Enzo.

KC would probably take me at least 20 hours.

Well, that reason alone is enough to make me want our meetup to be in VA! lol I don't want to miss out on Enzo!

HA :D Enzo is definitely coming. Perhaps she'll be far along enough in her SD training that we can fly, and I really hope that she is, but I like having my own car enough that I'd rather drive :p

I voted "other" because if it's not in central NC, I can't go. I can't board my dogs, I can't bring my dogs and even the VA location, which according to googlemaps is about 4 hours away is really closer to 10 hours because of my anxiety issues.

Considering I'm the only one who has voted for central NC, I suspect I simply won't be going.

I voted KS because I thougt it'd be more "in the middle" for people... Even though VA is closer to me ;)
but I like to travel and I have a dog who travels well with me, so all I gotta do is worry about work, ferret sitter, and $$$$ :p
