Yeah, I was definately not impressed with the SPCA. The president said that she worked for Toronto Humane Society for 50 years. I don't really understand how with an attitude like that.
Like I said, we wanted to try and work with the SPCA here on this problem but its obviously not going to work when they don't believe in the same things as the rest of us. They would just end up causing more crap than good.
See, here, you don't have to know a bit about animals to work there. You own an animal? Ok good enough you are the manager. Thats the way it works.
I went there a while back to have a look around and I was honestly discusted! The don't let the dogs out in the runs very often, if at all in a day. The runs are paved with BLACK pavement. How nice is that on their feet when it is 35 C. No shelter outside. Their inside runs were covered in feces, smeared up the walls. It stunk so badly that I **** near puked. They, for some reason can't even control ring worm!!!! They have their cat room constantly closed because they can't contain ringworm. These cats are not going out for adoption because they wont let people in there to adopt them. But, they still put cats down because they have been there for there lenght of time. They don't even get a chance for a new home before they put them to sleep. They had two dalmations in there at the same time and when I walked by the one cage one of the workers says to me "we are going to have puppies." I asked her why and here they had put them together while she was in heat! The place horrifies me to be quite honest.
