What's the strangest pet you've seen?

For me, it's a Tamandua (a type of anteater).
I've also spoken with a breeder of kangaroos and wallabies, but wallabies are getting more popular.

Please, don't turn this into a flame on people who own exotic pets. It's just not nice and never turns out good anyway.

I know a guy who is the best animal expert I have ever met and he does a little rescue of exotics. He has a cat, looks just like a regular old tabby, normal sized ears, normal coat pattern, except his paws are huge and he is about 45lbs. He is some sort of hybrid wildcat mix but no one can figure out what exactly. He will purr and cuddle in your lap and everything.

Ive seen a peacock too.It was wondering around a car park and i gave it some breadcrumbs.
Once i knew this dude who had a giant tortiose for a pet.He was called al.

I used to take my goat for walks (on leash of course) down the road, and she would come in the house and lie on a folded towel beside the couch and watch TV

She was the pickiest goat, wouldn't eat hay if someone had stepped on it, if grain was spilled, she was too 'good' to play vacuum. Spoiled goat, lol. Went looking for pics, but don't have any on the computer.

When we were in Georgia, we stopped at a feed store to get food for a friends rabbit..there was a lady inside walking two skunks on harnesses (one of them had a little jacket on lol)...I kind of just stopped and stared for a minute..but then of course, I couldn't help but go up and ask about them. She talked quite a bit about them and said that they were desecented (I would hope so!!), housebroken, and I guess she showed them (Skunk shows-who knew?). She said they were really affectionate, but of course not a pet for everyone. They were actually pretty neat, I had never seen one up close before then.

I loooove fennic foxes... I was looking into them a while back.

I've seen people with skunks before as well... they are supposedly pretty good pets. They use a litter box, and are pretty intelligent.

In dominican republic we have a male peacock and we use to have a female. We also have guinea fowls ...they look like this...

A pet store near us sells ring-tail lemurs, coati mundis, kinkajous, capuchins monkeys, baby skunks, sugar gliders, and chinchillas.

Last time I went there they had a capuchin money, a ring tail lemur, and coati mundis. I don't know if they had anything else I didn't see everything. They als have lots of exotic birds like cockatoos. And before they even had a shark pond. They don't have the sharks in the pond anymore, but they still sell sharks. They also sold puppies in the past and they still sell kitties.

A neighbor of mines had two female lions :yikes: in his backyard, but got them taken away, because he didn't have a permit to own them.

I knew a guy with a pet raccoon. He was that coon's own personal jungle gym, and I don't think the critter spent more than a few hours a day walking around by itself - it was always on his shoulders or hanging on his back.

I'm with you on the fennec fox. They are so cute, but I wonder if they are as great as the websites made them sound.
A girl I work with used to petsit for a couple that had two monkeys. She wanted me to sit for them once. I was for it until she told me that the mle would frequently...touch himself and then throw the result at her. No thank you, no amount of money could convince me after that.

My Dad had a pet Crow when he was little. His dad cut downa tree and didn't realize there was a nest in it and there was a single baby crow so he took it in and raised it.

Well, I had a goat that ate the tin grain scoop we had. Seeing how most goats dont try to eat metal that was a little odd.

Back on subject my mom had pet 'coons and I *think* I heard my grandma say she had a monkey but I dont know about that.

My math teach knew a guy who lived in the next town from where I lived who had a lion named Tex. I guess that would be the most exotic pet I've heard of.
