Oh my god... I loved watching his shows too. I was so shocked when I read this. I can't believe he's gone...
I remember watching him as a little kid and thinking he was invincible. How sad. I can't even imagine what his wife and children must feel right now...
I was so sad when I heard of this tragedy first thing this morning. The animals of this earth have lost a great advocate. My heart goes out to Terri & his children and all those others who loved him.
This is sad! It's hard to imagine someone with such passion and love to the point of exuding it through his eyes is no longer on earth. It’s almost surreal.
Oh no!! This is awful! He seemed like such a great person.. I really think it was all about the love of the critters for him.. not the love of money.. he was one of the few I felt was really genuine and really did care..
And he and his wife seemed so in love.. they really did seem meant to be together.. how awful for her and the kids.. I can't even imagine what they must be feeling right now.. so very sad..
I heard this morning on Sky News. My flat mate, boyfriend and I watched stunned. It feels unreal!
My heart goes out to his wife and little children. It is a tragedy that his kids won't get to learn more from their father.
God Bless his family and speed his way to where ever it is we go.
I'll be praying for his wife and children. For someone so much loved by the world with his TV shows and involvement in helping animals, I sure hope he knew God.
Goes to show, you never really know when life is going to end.
OMG...that's just so sad. I remember the episode when his staffie was killed, he was just devestated. I cried with him during that episode as I'm sure so many of his fans did. I think his dog's name was Bindy too, one of his kids were named after his "heart dog". I'm just in shock. R.I.P. Steve, the world will miss you deeply.
I heard it this morning too .....my condolences to all of you " down under ". He was my son's favorites . I sent him a talking bobble-head of Steve a few years ago . G'Bye, Steve , RIP.
You're right. Sui was the dogs name and his favorite croc was Bindi...
I thought something was wrong as I typed it so I checked and came back to correct my post. It was such a sad show. You could see how much a part of his heart that dog was.
News of Australian crocodile hunter Steve Irwin's death had website traffic in overdrive today, with many news sites operating on low-bandwidth mode as a result of high traffic.
The spike spread across a number of news sites as internet users were unsure if the sad news was a possible hoax.
So yes, his website is having high traffic, so there won't be anyone getting on there for awhile.
I just don't know what to say. The world is at a loss right now. For someone I have never met, I truely feel as if I have lost a great friend. Steve, you were loved by all, and you will be deeply missed. Rest in Peace, Steve!
